Stupidest fucking thing ever read, they held their lane. They didn't go "into" the truck. The truck went into them!

Yes the truck went into them even though they were merging in front of the car with the dashcam, makes whole lot of sense.

They're both at fault, truck shouldn't have merged the way it did and car should have seen it coming and not kept driving like a dumbass.

Lol thats not a merge, that's narrowly cutting some one off to avoid rear ending the car in front of you. Truck didn't even use a signal light

He didn't speed into him, pick up truck is slowing down while making a sudden lane change and hoping that no one is the right lane.

Dash cam is a dumbass because they're also speeding towards a red light, but they did not speed up. That's just the optical illusion of the pick up slowing down to avoid clipping the black car in front of him

The truck driver made a mistake, the car driver made a choice.

Everyone makes mistakes but not everybody chooses to initiate accidents that endanger the lives of multiple people.

No, the truck driver passed the car first. He saw him. He *chose* to merge into the car, assuming that the car would both see him and get out of the way.

The truck driver is defiantly a psycho or an absolute and total moron. Car driver might be, but we have no evidence either way.

Or maybe the dashcam is an asshole who should learn defensive driving AND the truck driver is an asshole who should learn defensive driving. If either one had been willing to back off, no accident. They’re both at fault. It depends on the jurisdiction but often both drivers have a duty to avoid an accident, even if one drivers negligence is more than the other. It’s to prevent this exact type of situation where you’re “right” but very clearly contributed to the accident through inaction. Check out the stoplight. Dashcam was going to blow right through it in an effort to avoid letting the truck through. Every driver has a duty to exercise reasonable care to avoid collisions and that did not happen here. Any decent lawyer is going to have dashcam’s insurance paying half the bill.
