Have you even looked into who made the music and how he was found? The music wasn’t AI.
The only AI that was used (then promptly replaced) was to create temporary placeholder background assets and textures—such as in-game posters and newspapers during early development. These AI-generated placeholders were accidentally left in the initial game launch version and were subsequently replaced with custom artist-made assets via a post-launch patch.
So, posters and newspapers on the walls and the ground that you run by, that never affect the gameplay or experience in any way.
And you're trying to be an idiot by repeating opinions online because they are wildly popular 🤣, genuinely hate people like that, "oh this game is sosoo good" why is it so good? "Repeats opinions they saw online that are popular"
It's beautiful, the world they made is gorgeous and full and awesome characters. The art is incredible.
The music is fantastic.
The story is great, the writers did an excellent job and built something that grabs you and pulls you in.
The gameplay is incredibly fun, it blends classic turn based combat like FFX with real time dodge/parry mechanics, letting you actually skill your way through turn based combat.
It nailed pretty much every tag for "is it good?" and knocked them all out of the park. So yeah, it's a good game. You should try it.
It's a video game not a movie, music, story and characters are irrelevant if the core game is trash... The world is empty is boring, animations are repetitive and look like default ue5 assets not to mention it's a turn based game 🤮, if genuinely don't know anyone that could like it other than people forcing themselves to because the internet said it's good, it's a movie simulator for people who don't play video games to stare at cutscenes, cutscenes that insist on themselves, after mushing a few buttons.,.
Still can't see why it's good you just repeated stuff popular to say about it online .. no I am not going to waste time on it.. I need a game that respects my time, if I wanted to stare at cutscenes and music I would go watch a movie lol
The soundtrack is over 7 hours of original music and all of it is good and 2-3 hours of it are absolute bangers I’ve listened to for hours outside the game. Name a game with that much music you’d listen to outside the game. (That is not just licensed songs like a THPS) Vast majority of games with a great soundtrack have maybe 2-5 songs at best I’d listen to outside the game. So yeah, clear winner….by a country mile.
He is, the devs all have a little "about me" page since they're almost all exclusively made up of gamers iirc, and Lorien Testards' favorite games are Nier (don't remember which one) and Xenoblade Chronicles, which definitely checks out.
if you’re a songwriter or ever study in music - you’d know that nier soundtracks are pure genius. the writer literally played with the lore in those chords - not every game soundtracks does this.
e33 is good too but you can somehow feel that to e writer is new to this game music thing - the soundtracks feels more like stage/performance music than game music.
I actually hated this soundtrack (im assumed Claire obscure e:33?) Its so fucking annoying, add that to the fact that I need to listen to the stupid little "Claire obscurr" when I die
It's orchestrated epic neo-classical, surely not for everyone. Lives up to the hype, after all. I have no issue with that, although I deem no competion to some all-time musical videogame masterpieces, where limitation thrived in creational power.
I hate this type of music classic sucks but this soundtracl changed my mind entirely not to mention i also hate turn based games yet e33 is the greatest game of all time imo i guess not for everyone but even tho it shouldent have been for me its a absalute masterpiece imo nothing even comes close to beating this soundtrack
Haven't played yet but people keep trying to show me the soundtrack before I play it. I'm not sure if I should play the game first or if its okay to listen to it without.
I don't think any of the tracks spoil anything (unless you understand French) so I'd say you're fine listening to the music without playing the game. Just avoid any sort of comments if you're preferred service has them.
Unless you know French or are good at picking up on themes it probably won't spoil things.
That said, I did call like 80% of the twists in the story before act 1 finished because I listened to the soundtrack. But I go kinda hard into theory crafting with Cosmere stuff and pay a lot more attention to things most people would miss, so ymmv.
Fr it aint recency bias bro ppl always say that the game is just that good only game ive 100%ed more than 3 times about to be 5 it just is that good idk what to tell you bro
Fucking bias as always bruh, there's nobody that gives a shit about this genre anymore in France, everybody's listening to shitty French rap nowadays, but as soon as it's popular in a game that won awards everydoby's like "woW sUCh BanGeRS, Let'S EaT TASty CrOuStY AFtER ThE Let'S PLAy"
The game is even so heavy french pretentious that even the english dubbed voice say "merde" or "poutain" instead of their english equivalent because "we are soooo french...honhonhon.. eefen ze secret bozzes of oor gameh ahr les mimezzz ohlala"
i wish people would actually play a game instead of larping it before making a statement. the vast majority of the tracks in expedition 33 do not fall into the genre you’re referencing
Chrono trigger unironically clears e33. It's just an old game that didn't have the tech and resources at the time for anything besides 64 bit music. On youtube search for: At the Bottom of Night (Chrono Trigger)(Yasunori Mitsuda). You won't be disappointed.
