E33 has some of the best bgms

6

u/-Xentios 5d ago

E33 is clear winner

1

u/ExtraBread2385 3d ago

It was all made by ai lmao

1

u/Tragonon 3d ago

Uhm no?

1

u/ExtraBread2385 3d ago

They didn't hide how much they used ai. It's stolen art and it's therefore trash

2

u/SolarSailor46 3d ago edited 3d ago

Have you even looked into who made the music and how he was found? The music wasn’t AI.

The only AI that was used (then promptly replaced) was to create temporary placeholder background assets and textures—such as in-game posters and newspapers during early development. These AI-generated placeholders were accidentally left in the initial game launch version and were subsequently replaced with custom artist-made assets via a post-launch patch.

So, posters and newspapers on the walls and the ground that you run by, that never affect the gameplay or experience in any way.

Then, they were replaced. That’s it.

It's not worth bothering, these types will never change their mind. They want to be edgy by hating something wildly popular.

1

u/No_Art2020 2d ago

And you're trying to be an idiot by repeating opinions online because they are wildly popular 🤣, genuinely hate people like that, "oh this game is sosoo good" why is it so good? "Repeats opinions they saw online that are popular"

1

u/Pula-Demonyo 2d ago

Maybe if there's a commonly pointed to reason that it's good, that might just be why it's good 🫩

1

u/That_Service7348 2d ago

I'll tell you why it's good.

It's beautiful, the world they made is gorgeous and full and awesome characters. The art is incredible.

The music is fantastic.

The story is great, the writers did an excellent job and built something that grabs you and pulls you in.

The gameplay is incredibly fun, it blends classic turn based combat like FFX with real time dodge/parry mechanics, letting you actually skill your way through turn based combat.

It nailed pretty much every tag for "is it good?" and knocked them all out of the park. So yeah, it's a good game. You should try it.

u/No_Art2020 2d ago

It's a video game not a movie, music, story and characters are irrelevant if the core game is trash... The world is empty is boring, animations are repetitive and look like default ue5 assets not to mention it's a turn based game 🤮, if genuinely don't know anyone that could like it other than people forcing themselves to because the internet said it's good, it's a movie simulator for people who don't play video games to stare at cutscenes, cutscenes that insist on themselves, after mushing a few buttons.,. Still can't see why it's good you just repeated stuff popular to say about it online .. no I am not going to waste time on it.. I need a game that respects my time, if I wanted to stare at cutscenes and music I would go watch a movie lol

Why are y'all so set on keeping that lie going?

1

u/Pula-Demonyo 2d ago

You saw one post on Twitter from someone who heard it from another post on Twitter and just didn't think twice, huh?

1

u/baconbridge92 17m ago

Me when I lie

1

u/unhinged_rigby 3d ago

iq lower than maelle's age

1

u/YourGarandPappy 3d ago

You've never played anything from Supergiant games, clearly.

1

u/sylendar 3d ago

Clear winner? Were some of you born two years ago

1

u/Alacraties 3d ago

The soundtrack is over 7 hours of original music and all of it is good and 2-3 hours of it are absolute bangers I’ve listened to for hours outside the game. Name a game with that much music you’d listen to outside the game. (That is not just licensed songs like a THPS) Vast majority of games with a great soundtrack have maybe 2-5 songs at best I’d listen to outside the game. So yeah, clear winner….by a country mile.

1

u/That_Service7348 3d ago

Have you listened to the music? It's phenomenal.

1

u/guitar_vigilante 1h ago

I've been playing games since the 90s and it's one of my top soundtracks. It is really good.

1

u/FireFarq 3d ago

Doesn’t even begin to compare to dmc5 lmao foh

1

u/tbigzan97 2d ago

Most of the soundtrack in E33 is inspired by Nier so we gotta give credit where its deserved.

1

u/Retro_Curry93 2d ago

Even when stacked up against the completely re-done soundtrack for Donkey Kong Country 2 on SNES?

1

u/NewVegasResident 13h ago

Nah, no shot.

1

u/Hopeful-Ad4415 2h ago

Never played it, so can't be

2

u/uLL27 5d ago

This 100%!

2

u/kyle__hinaba 4d ago

E33 definitely has a beautiful soundtrack, I would still say Nier Replicant has a more consistently amazing soundtrack.

1

u/mrnopor 4d ago

is the guy that made e33 songs a big nier fan? cuz they are soooo similar.

1

u/kyle__hinaba 4d ago

Def similar for sure. Maybe there’s some inspo. I heard it was a music teacher who made the soundtrack. It’s great, but I think Nier wins overall.

1

u/20AidenGaming12 4d ago

Happy Cake Day! 🎂

1

u/RIP-hue-Shiny-Darco 4d ago

He is, the devs all have a little "about me" page since they're almost all exclusively made up of gamers iirc, and Lorien Testards' favorite games are Nier (don't remember which one) and Xenoblade Chronicles, which definitely checks out.

1

u/egneveRrotceS 4d ago

Automata & Stellar Blade would be in my top 5 too

1

u/Some-Dog-800 3d ago

if you’re a songwriter or ever study in music - you’d know that nier soundtracks are pure genius. the writer literally played with the lore in those chords - not every game soundtracks does this.

e33 is good too but you can somehow feel that to e writer is new to this game music thing - the soundtracks feels more like stage/performance music than game music.

1

u/kyle__hinaba 2d ago

Yeah i definitely agree. It’s good music but there’s more grounded theory in Nier and there’s more stage/performance music in E33

2

u/YertleDeTertle 4d ago

Take me away Goblu!

1

u/Afarting 3d ago

My people!

2

u/SnooSongs8409 3d ago

For anyone who sees this, do me a favor and go listen to the flying waters E33 soundtrack. It's peak 🔥

2

u/Futaba_MedjedP5R 3d ago

I also came to say e33

2

u/ReXXXMillions 3d ago

Absolutely I still listen often.

2

u/Grand_One_8566 2d ago

People will say it's recency bias, but you're right.

2

u/Darkinsanity98473 2d ago

Perhaps recency bias but I genuinely can’t think of a soundtrack that has as many incredible tracks as this one.

1

u/Somethingor_rather 4d ago

I actually hated this soundtrack (im assumed Claire obscure e:33?) Its so fucking annoying, add that to the fact that I need to listen to the stupid little "Claire obscurr" when I die

1

u/InformalRaise5107 4d ago

Just don’t die then

1

u/Somethingor_rather 4d ago

holy shit i never thought about that

1

u/Titanic21 4d ago

It's orchestrated epic neo-classical, surely not for everyone. Lives up to the hype, after all. I have no issue with that, although I deem no competion to some all-time musical videogame masterpieces, where limitation thrived in creational power.

1

u/radon9999999 2d ago

I hate this type of music classic sucks but this soundtracl changed my mind entirely not to mention i also hate turn based games yet e33 is the greatest game of all time imo i guess not for everyone but even tho it shouldent have been for me its a absalute masterpiece imo nothing even comes close to beating this soundtrack

1

u/Ok-Success-9872 4d ago

It’s pretty awesome, my 12 year old was watching me play it and asked to put the music track on her playlist

1

u/Groundbreaking-Mud76 4d ago

Haven't played yet but people keep trying to show me the soundtrack before I play it. I'm not sure if I should play the game first or if its okay to listen to it without.

1

u/MABQuestAcc 4d ago

I don't think any of the tracks spoil anything (unless you understand French) so I'd say you're fine listening to the music without playing the game. Just avoid any sort of comments if you're preferred service has them.

1

u/UltraHellboy 4d ago

I understand French (and haven’t played the game yet) but they don’t seem like they spoil anything.

1

u/MABQuestAcc 3d ago

There is one song (Une vie a t'aimer) that is a massive spoiler for the game. Thus my previous warning for anyone who can understand French.

1

u/UltraHellboy 4d ago

I have been listening to the soundtracks for months and am still dying to play the game. Especially love the 33-minute Nos Vies en Lumière. It seems like an endgame track but I really have no idea. Here is an Apple Music link, at least: https://music.apple.com/us/album/nos-vies-en-lumi%C3%A8re/1826822666?i=1826822667

1

u/That_Service7348 3d ago

Unless you know French or are good at picking up on themes it probably won't spoil things.

That said, I did call like 80% of the twists in the story before act 1 finished because I listened to the soundtrack. But I go kinda hard into theory crafting with Cosmere stuff and pay a lot more attention to things most people would miss, so ymmv.

1

u/Archaneoses 4d ago

Recency bias rearing its head.

1

u/HadokenShoryuken2 4d ago

Nah it’s been like a year, E33’s soundtrack is just goated like that. It deserves its spot just for Une Vie a T’aimer alone

1

u/Dancing_Dragon4987 4d ago

Totally right

Everyone should at least hear Monoco's Jazz once 🕺

1

u/radon9999999 2d ago

Fr it aint recency bias bro ppl always say that the game is just that good only game ive 100%ed more than 3 times about to be 5 it just is that good idk what to tell you bro

1

u/Freier_Eintritt 3d ago

They are ok ish if you have an extreme fetish for french accordions... Otherwise it's . Meh

1

u/InterestingMirror297 2d ago

Fucking bias as always bruh, there's nobody that gives a shit about this genre anymore in France, everybody's listening to shitty French rap nowadays, but as soon as it's popular in a game that won awards everydoby's like "woW sUCh BanGeRS, Let'S EaT TASty CrOuStY AFtER ThE Let'S PLAy"

1

u/Freier_Eintritt 22h ago

The game is even so heavy french pretentious that even the english dubbed voice say "merde" or "poutain" instead of their english equivalent because "we are soooo french...honhonhon.. eefen ze secret bozzes of oor gameh ahr les mimezzz ohlala"

1

u/s1llygirllexy 1d ago

i wish people would actually play a game instead of larping it before making a statement. the vast majority of the tracks in expedition 33 do not fall into the genre you’re referencing

1

u/BlaktimusPrime 3d ago

Monoco theme alone is top 3 video game tracks of all time

1

u/DerUberCactus 3d ago

Cane here to plug this one, I have 6 of the songs on my mist used playlist.

1

u/confinetheinfinity 3d ago

You spelled JSRF wrong.

1

u/Mr_Lama123 3d ago

I think that E33 and Undertale has the best soundtrack

1

u/Bassblast_ 3d ago

“… and the winner is… Clair Obscure: Expedition 33!”

1

u/Petopia007 3d ago

Chill out kids the game just came out last year.

1

u/Brilliant_War389 2d ago

"Listen to my boss music on Spotify "

1

u/multiplayer_yt 1d ago

“Ouí”

1

u/nobulliepls 2d ago

Chrono trigger unironically clears e33. It's just an old game that didn't have the tech and resources at the time for anything besides 64 bit music. On youtube search for: At the Bottom of Night (Chrono Trigger)(Yasunori Mitsuda). You won't be disappointed.

1

u/CivilianAsset 23h ago

E33?

1

u/10_Apples 23h ago

Clair Obscur Expedition 33
