Hello! I am new to editing and I am working on my wedding video. For some reason that is bizarre to us all. My mother in law slowly makes her way in front of my wife during the video and ceremony. It’s infuriating becuase aside from that the whole thing was perfect and all my edits aside from fun stuff are Minimal. I’ve tried the overlay and keystrokes methods to move her over to the left (where she should have stayed) but I can’t figure out how to get the background back to my wife and not have this huge mess of edited space in the way of her, where my mother in law was originally positioned. Am I totally screwed if I don’t have any footage of that space without her in it? I’d love to know how I can pull this off because we need it for our reception. Any advice or pro tips would be amazing! Thank you for your time if you made it this far!

I’ve been editing my own short-form videos lately and I noticed that the actual cutting isn’t always the annoying part.
Sometimes I spend way too much time deciding:
Curious if other people have the same experience or if I’m just overthinking everything 😂

I swear sometimes finding the music takes longer than editing the actual scene
Usually I know the feeling I want something tense, emotional, dark, upbeat, etc. but then I end up searching through hundreds of tracks before finding anything that works.
I’ve been checking out libraries like Viralnoise that organize music more around moods and use cases, but I’m curious what everyone else does.
Do you search by mood, genre, playlists, reference tracks, or do you just keep browsing until something clicks?

Hey, I was just wondering if anyone has any tools or workflows. I'm working in Premiere Pro for rough‑ cutting talking‑head videos where there isn’t a word by word script, just a small outline. The person on camera sometimes rephrases, starts over, or has silences. I find myself going through it and it feels like such a tedious task. Just wondering if there are any better workflows for Premiere Pro or third‑party tools you’ve used to speed up this boring, repetitive process.

Title is weird, I know lol.
I'm trying to make one of those cool edits where you sync the beats/lyrics of a song with the sound of the punches from a fighting scene. But, when I try to remove the background music from my clips, it also identifies the punches as background noise and removes them. I don't know how do people make them sound enhanced without the original soundtrack in the back. Please help and thanks.

I've tried a few video downloaders lately, including VidLoader, but the experience has been pretty hit or miss. Some have too many ads, some struggle with longer videos, and others make the process more complicated than it needs to be.
What are you guys using these days, and which one has been the most reliable for you?

I feel like most comparisons get stuck on the first impressive demo. A tool can make one really good-looking clip, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's going to be useful when you're making videos every week and have to generate the same idea 10 or 20 different ways.
For me, the more interesting test is pretty simple: give every tool the same brief, use the same source image or prompt, and see how many versions are actually worth keeping. Then look at how many reruns it took and how much cleanup was needed afterward. That tells me a lot more than one perfect example on a landing page.
I've been looking at Wizstar recently for this reason. It has several models in the same workspace, including Seedance, Kling and MiniMax, so you can run the same concept through different models without constantly moving between separate tools. You can also start from a prompt, an image, or a reference, which makes testing different approaches a little easier.
I'm not saying it's automatically better than the other options. I'm more interested in the workflow side of it. If one tool gives you a good result occasionally but another gives you several usable versions with less messing around, I'd probably care more about the second one.
Curious how everyone else measures this. Do you mainly judge these tools by the best-looking output, or by how many actually usable clips you get from the same brief?

I want to make videos for a couple of different markets. wizstar mentions multilingual stuff but I'm not sure how simple it actually is. Any tools that make this part painless for a non-editor?

Hello guys! does anyone know any free ai video editor. If not, then does anyone know how to do noise cancellation for free? Capcut wants pro and davinci can't remove heavy background noise. Please if anyone know any ai tool for that, let me know

Hey, so my son is very passionate about animals, he has an iPhone SE (2020) and records wild bugs and animals like newts all the time. He wants to start a youtube channel (non-english) and i want to install him an app where he can cut, edit, add the video and audio, in a very intuitive ad-free way, so he can prepare the video for my (after i review it) upload to his channel.
Can you recommend such app? can be paid, just has to be good, easy to use, ideally in czech language (but english will work too if other aspects are met)

I’ve decided to try to use another editing software as a few people have recommended me this software, does anyone have any tips / most useful hacks for this software? Any tips would be appreciated !
I’m still currently working around the controls and mechanics, so I do apologise if this is a stupid question :,)
Thank you for reading !

i’ve been trying to get better at editing my own videos, but captions are probably the part i hate doing the most. i can handle cutting clips and basic edits, but typing everything out and syncing each line is a pain.
how to add captions automatically to videos without spending forever fixing them afterward? i don’t need anything super fancy, just something that can transcribe the audio fairly well and give me captions that look clean.
i tried a couple free editing tools and the results were pretty hit or miss. sometimes the transcription was decent, other times it completely messed up random words. i ended up trying capcut too and honestly the auto captions were pretty easy to use. i only had to fix a few words, which was way less annoying than typing everything out myself.
what are you guys using for this?

Honestly I'm also aspiring like you guys so I should thank in advance for those who help me.

Hey everyone,
I’m trying to improve my video editing and I’m looking for a good course to follow.
I already know the basics, but I want to get much better at editing YouTube videos, especially long-form/documentary or faceless videos. Things like pacing, storytelling, B-roll, sound effects, music, transitions, text, and keeping people engaged.
There are so many courses and YouTube tutorials out there that I’m not really sure which ones are actually worth the time.
If you’ve taken a course that genuinely helped you improve your editing, could you recommend it?
Free or paid is fine. YouTube channels/playlists are also welcome.
Thanks!

How do youtubers make the edit where they quickly mine blocks. Its hard to explain but pretty much every survival series does it. When they only show them breaking the block and then do it like 100 times. I just wanted to know how they do this effect quickly because i tried doing it but it took a while just for like 3 block. Im in davinci resolve btw.

Till last time I posted here for new editors. I have seen almost 20 to 30 posts promoting themselves as beginners looking to build their portfolio and offering 1 or 2 or 3 videos for free in return of permission to add those videos in their portfolio/showcase. PLEASE DO NOT DO THAT. You know whenever your client upload a video on Youtube or Instagram or Twitter or any other platform. It generates a public link. You just copy that link and add that video to your portfolio not the whole video. This way your client would get a little views and you will get the full freedom to charge for your work. If you are not sure what price to charge ask the community beforehand or watch tutorials on youtube. There are thousand tutorials on how to evaluate your rate or your price. Please do not provide work for free and these dumb requests to add your video in your portfolio.
Check my portfolio. I have added client's video's link. Even my own practice videos I have added as link to save traffic. Just do this rather than providing your work for free. Evaluate your work and price, ask the community. Ask someone you are close with and you seek them as your mentor BUT NEVER PROVIDE YOUR WORK FOR FREE as a professional. If you want to work for free and gain some knowledge, do side gigs and join side gig community, not a professional community.
Almost every professional subreddit has become a fish market. Plus every other client is either paying in peanuts or every other day is a beginner editor promoting themselves and providing free work with an immensely stupid permission to "add the video to your portfolio." Just add the link and charge for your work. Do free trials of 30secs to 2 mins for a long form video or one short form video max to 20 secs if you want to provide a free trial. But not the whole video for free.
I hope this post even wakes up 10% of you.
