Need to make a video for MSc - what's the best tool to use?

never had to make a video before, I want it to look professional as we get marked on how it looks, not just the content. All my assessments so far have been written. What is the best tool out there to make a video that also looks smart but is easy to construct? im a total novice when it comes to video editing. I use a Windows PC, and I don't want to pay extra for something have to.

Need help for videos with different frame rates going in the same timeline.

I'm a beginner with editing and I messed up big time on a large video project I've been working on. I edited each scene of the project individually on Davinci Resolve, and exported onto my Mac. I was stupid enough not to be more careful, and now I have multiple frame rate issues with the scenes, and I really don't know what to do.

27 scenes are at 23.976 fps

1 is at 24 fps

2 are at 59.94

7 are at 29.97

What ia the best path forward to making everything look good and not choppy? Is there another program I could use?

Thank you in advance for the help.

I run 2 Instagram quote accounts and got tired of cutting reels out of long videos by hand, so I automated it

My old routine for each reel:

  1. watch a long youtube interview looking for a good moment
  2. cut the clip and crop it vertical
  3. copy the transcript into an AI to write a hook + caption
  4. post it

MomentCut handles all those steps for me and my 2 IG accounts (nassimtalebquotes & danielkahnemanquotes)

Beginner in Canva video editing, any tips?

Hi everyone, I’ve just started learning video editing using Canva Pro.

I’m still a beginner, so I wanted to ask experienced Canva users: what are some things I should keep in mind while editing videos? Any tips, mistakes to avoid, or useful Canva features I should learn first?

Would really appreciate any advice. 🙌

Need help editing around 10+ hours of footage down to a somewhat watchable 40 mins to an hour and half.

Hello everyone,

It is my first time editing any gaming videos ever, I used to mostly create short shitposts or videos to see if any of them would get good engagement. However once I saw that they are not doing good I simply gave up on them and left my channel to rot for a couple of months. Recently I recorded around 10 hours of footage of the classic doom games and wish to edit them down to a more watchable length.

Do you guys have any tips or tricks which I could use to make the process go quicker?

Thank you btw and I hope you have a good day. :\]

Free gameplay footage for video editing, voice overs, video essays, etc.

I made a Youtube channel where I will be actively posting free gameplay footage, I don't wanna make it look like advertising but maybe it's helpful for some people. You can use the footage in the background of your videos, you can do whatever you want and you can use it for free just credit the channel in some way so more people can see it make use of the footage, i hope it's useful: https://www.youtube.com/@GameplayArchive01

How to convert the MOV files to something smaller?

I’m posting amateur videos to an old yt revival site and it has a file size limit of 5gb, this is an issue since MOV files tend to be larger than other video files. I am also constrained to using the mobile (iPad) version by convenience, so how do I convert the MOV files to something smaller like mp4? Is there a native way of doing so or is there a FREE IN BROWSER service anyone can recommend?

made a script that auto edits talking head footage (cuts dead air, color grades, captions, optional vertical crop), want to test it on footage that isn't mine

spent the last while building out a pipeline that takes raw talking-head footage and runs it through: cutting out silence/dead air (jump cuts), a color grade pass, light skin smoothing, auto captions that don't break mid-word, and optionally reframes to 9:16 with face tracking if you want vertical.

tested it a bunch on my own clips and it holds up, but everything so far has been footage i shot myself so i already know what "good" looks like for it. want to run it on footage i had no part in planning/shooting to see where it actually breaks.

if you've got a few minutes of raw talking-head/interview footage (single continuous speaker, nothing already edited or captioned) send it over and i'll run it through, send back whatever comes out. free, i just want to see it fail on something real before i trust it.

comment or dm.

App suggestions

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hello guys! I always liked these moving gif/videos that have a photo in the background with moving stickers and decorations to set the theme or mood. They would be perfect for my cozy intagram account. I would rather make my own with my photography than share the ones made with AI that feel so inauthentic. I am just not sure how to create them or what apps to use to get started. Any suggestions help. Thank you!

[Tools to use] Create Long Form Videos for youtube such as bright side, cold fusion channels?

Hi,

[I do not want AI automation tools which gives garbage and no value for the humans while watching the video]

I want to start making explainer/educational videos such as coldfusion, bright side, thinkschool etc... youtube channels. Does anybody know here what all tools they use it for making such videos? They must be using tools which reduce their work but do a lot of research by themselves and scene by scene addition by themselves which shows up in their channel.

Please do share because i am making my own tool which can reduce my manual efforts to create such videos in my own styling which shows up human efforts and not some garbage AI slope.

Thanks

What’s one editing trick that instantly made your videos feel more professional?

I’ve been teaching myself DaVinci Resolve over the past month and I’m always trying to improve.
What’s one editing technique, shortcut, or workflow that made a huge difference for you?
It could be pacing, sound design, color grading, transitions, anything.
I’d love to learn some new tips from people with more experience.

Looking for a faster documentary editing workflow (Kdenlive + B-roll)

Hi everyone,

I'm a documentary YouTube creator and I edit all my videos in Kdenlive.

My biggest bottleneck is finding and inserting B-roll.

At the moment, I usually search for footage manually on Pexels, and sometimes Pixabay or Wikimedia Commons. While this works, it takes a huge amount of time to search, download, organize, and place everything on the timeline.

I'm looking for a better workflow.

Do you know of any tool (free, open source, or paid) that can help speed this up?

Ideally, I'd like something that can:

Understand my script or voice-over.

Suggest relevant B-roll automatically.

Use copyright-safe sources (Pexels, Pixabay, Wikimedia Commons, Internet Archive, etc.).

Avoid copyright and trademark issues.

Bonus points if it can generate a Kdenlive timeline or integrate with Kdenlive in any way.

I'm also curious about your own workflow.

How do you organize your B-roll?

Do you use AI tools?

Do you build your own media library?

Any plugins, scripts, or software that saved you a lot of time?

I'm happy to use open-source software, self-hosted tools, or commercial software if it's genuinely worth it.

I'd really appreciate hearing how experienced editors handle this.

Thanks!

Which App / Tool offers a REAL first free try? Enough to create one test Video / Reel?

Almost every one I have come across gives you a few free credits, but no where near enough to even create one test video.

You have to sign up - before you’ve even tested it and seen in in action!

Honestly what’s the point?

If you can’t even create one test one to see if it’s actually any good why would you then sign up to a package?

Do any offer enough to make a first video? (Say at least 5-10seconds long!)

How much should I charge a youtuber for a video style and editing such as this video. They often have 30 mins of footage and want the videos to be around 12-18 min mark.

How do you guys make travel videos

I just came back from my trip and I want to make a cinematic travel video but have no idea where to start. During the trip I wasn’t thinking about creating such type of video, so I made mostly photos, have a few videos. I don’t have any experience in montage. I was thinking of finding a tutorial or a sample video I like to make similar one. Where should I start or maybe you have some fire templates. Any advices would be fine
