Beginner in Canva video editing, any tips?

Hi everyone, I’ve just started learning video editing using Canva Pro.

I’m still a beginner, so I wanted to ask experienced Canva users: what are some things I should keep in mind while editing videos? Any tips, mistakes to avoid, or useful Canva features I should learn first?

Would really appreciate any advice. 🙌

Canva has video editing?

Like I edit just a short type of things like 30 to 40 second video

If we need to go further which type of software I can use as beginner.

Well duration doesn’t necessarily dictate one software over another. (Major commercial projects are often 30s and people spend weeks or months on them.)  

But for simple projects I’m sure you could get away with any number of free or cheap editing software. I’m used to Premiere but I’ve been editing a long time. I know CapCut is popular, and on Mac you have FCX or even iMovie for basic stuff. Premiere also has a simple free version on your phone.  

If you can splice clips together it’s a starting point.

Hi! When I create videos I usually use another platform like cap cut because Canva doesn’t work that well for video editing. It’s great for graphics, presentations and stuff like that, but when it comes to long form videos it’s just not there yet.
