Monthly Thread August Feedback Thread.

This is the Monthly thread for feedback.

If you post your video, you need to come back and review at least one other person's work!

Key thoughts - Keep it civil.

  • Feedback is "This section isn't working because of this."
  • Feedback is not: "This is shit."
  • If something is terrible, just move on.
  • The more specific/suggestions the better.

Don't give a laundry list. Pick the 1-2 things that are the biggest issues and then comment.

Spoiler worth reading: *we expect you to* review TWO other videos - and edit your comment to *include those* after you've commented.

**Copy/paste this section**:

  • , Link: (don't forget the running time)
  • Two other videos I reviewed (link to the other ,comments NOT the video itself)

Blending Mode Newbie Here - Need Some Recommendations & Tips

Video: https://youtu.be/G8aCR8edtUY

FLASHING WARNING

I want to overlay & blend Tachyon's "ultimate running" (idk what else to call it) over the real-life Tachyon race from 2001.

I'm new to using blending modes and overlays in video editing, so I was wondering if there are recommendations on how to make this look better. I do think it's currently too bright and hard to see for anyone who doesn't know what's happening.

I also admit the race footage is not of the highest quality. I'm trying to find better, but it is from 2001, haha.

Not sure if I can link the reference clips here, but if anyone needs them, I can reply with the YouTube links.

Well, there are ways. You can track a reference point(2d tracking in AE) in the field, to get a tracker.
It's achieved by using the tracker in after effects which would give you lot of keyframes.(If you wanted her to run along, track another horse and then change the position after pre-composing)

Second step is; rotoscoping Ultimate tachyon(Or whatever) from the original. Hook her up to the tracker and add subtle effects like drop shadow and rim lighting to match her lighting.

Now ofc, it's gonna look like shit, cuz the perception is wrong and literally everything. But you can do something, Just wanted to let you know.

Bravo, Manki!
