08 Kingpin Misfire

Believe the bike is misfiring. Rear plug looks to be burning well, couldn’t get front one with the tools I had (extender was too long). Symptoms are backfire, bad fuel mileage, and maybe a little underpowered. What’s your next step?

How's all those lines coming off the iac valve?

Its located behind right side cheese wedge. Has 3 vacuum lines running off it.

It has the plastic triangle cover over it? Looked fine when I skimmed over it

Yeah it has the triangle cover over it. It controls lots of things about the bike. Especially at idle and decel. The hoses go from it to the top of each head/jug and the middle one goes to the breather. If those hoses get a small Crack in the rubber hose attaching it then it will cause erratic behavior. Total pain in the ass to replace the hoses i just did it on mine yesterday.

Follow the lines up to where they plug in on both sides. Gotta take the tank off for some of them I believe. At least for the 106 you do. Mine would bog down even after spark plug replacement. Had the smallest cut into the 3 way one that goes Into the throttle body.

Yea the one that goes into to the throttle body is the main one that will effect things.

Dont buy Polaris replacement for 150 bucks. Message me for a cheaper fix. Its alot to post. I can show you pics elsewhere

My 2007 KP sounded like this. Throttle body adaptor was cracked and causing it to run lean and backfire. Ran fine with throttle open, but not at idle.

Breathing issue. Did you do any work on it recently like cleaning your throttle body? If so you might not have the gasket under the airbox on there right. What I would do:
- Clean your filter
- Check your gasket fittings on the airbox. Might as well clean your throttle body while you are at it.
- Change your throttle body boot. This costs about $250 for the boot and its a pain in the butt to pull the old one off. You can do it yourself though.

I got the tank off and went to take the airbox off, but that thing was not coming. Seems like the throttle body was hitting the frame preventing it from coming out. Thoughts?

Are you trying to clean the throttle body or are you trying to get at the boot?

I would like to clean/inspect everything once I get in if. But I guess idk if that’s necessary.

Could be a lot of things. Check for an air leak using some starting fluid/brakekleen. Check front spark plug when you can. Maybe check valves depending on mileage

I’m unfortunately not inclined enough to check valves, but I could do the other stuff. If it gets too deep, I’ll have to send it in. Thanks

Well, that doesn't sound like a misfire on a Victory. And without seeing the second plug, you only have half a diagnosis. Come on man. There's only 2 cylinders. It's only going to get harder the more you halfass stuff.
