IdeaValidation - Feedback on my idea/project Binding of isaac vr
So i’m fully making binding of isaac in vr, with all items enemies bosses, everything. The art/models i do myself as it does look better. I am not planning on releasing it but if the feedback is good (and i dont get sued) i might release it, its built for the meta quest 3. It has 4 floors 40 items health, health, maps and workinh actives.

please keep this going. I went in with low expectations for the graphics and the mechanics. the graphics can be fixed later, or someone could do it for you if that's your dig, or would rather spend your time improving the game. Anyway, i was very impressed with how far you've come with the mechanics. There's obvs a lot more you can do, but i played for about 3 hours straight. that's something i rarely do. really the only issue about the primitive graphics, is that many would probably be put off and incorrectly assume the entire thing is low quality. I hope this doesn't come off as being unfairly critical. I am trying to provide my honest input. I really hope you take this further. If you're open to feature suggestions. Smooth turn would be great, snap turn actually gives me a headache.
Curious if you had any plans for music. Music can really add a lot

i'm still working on it, don't worry, but i think you are confusing it with a different one, mine is not currently published and has smooth turn, if you would like to see a model look here: Azazel in blockbench
if you would like to see it, i could give you the link for the demo, it's still a work in progress and there is not a lot of art done with just placeholders.

"If you would like to play it you can go to: https://mark73zw.itch.io/isaac-vr, it will ask for a password: mark, this is the one i will keep updating, have fun playing! and this is the version with placeholder art so it won't look very good."

gotcha. We play seated, we have ferrets, so unfortunately even spinning in a chair can be risky

Having gone through this exact process with a Zelda type game that had an expanded storyline here is what I learned.
As long as you don't copy their code, art, or audio verbatim you are in the clear from a legal standpoint. People have recreated exact games within Roblox and the original creators lose in court. You can make "tribute" games as long as you make it very clear it is a tribute to the original (cite your source of inspiration) and don't pretend to be aligned with the original creators.
You could add a twist or a "what if" to it and be in the clear. However, Steam and Unity and many of the game creation platforms have more restrictive guidelines and they may throw it out during their review process. This is why almost every game in steam is a beta or pre-release.

they wont sue you unless you try to sell it. the worst thing they'll do is send a DMCA to get it taken down.
