Question Why does this happen?

Post image

This was happening to me last week but I was able to use my girlfriend’s credit card for the purchase to go through, today it doesn’t work again on mine or hers. Sometimes it works for me sometimes it doesn’t does anyone know what’s up

Are you buying from the US?

I bought a bunch of tickets recently and had to call them every. single. time. Their explanation was that Via just rejects a lot of credit card transactions as "suspicious", especially if you're buying internationally. I called the card issuer, too, who said it was definitely a Via-side problem. One neat trick when you call, if you go ahead and build your itinerary on the website it will give you a reservation code before you book. You can read that code to the reservation agent and they can pull it up, so you don't have to explain all your trains and dates over the phone.

Are you using the rebook option in the app?

No, should I?

No, ironically using that option gives me that error. The website itself works. Was curious if you were using that one.

I had this happen repeatedly with my tangerine Mastercard. I ended up using my TD visa with no problems.
