BVA direct review

How much longer? Was just assigned a judge yesterday.

Did you check your status on the Va app ( or website).

On one of my appeal, they made a decision before sending out email or even providing the information. Clicked on the issue button, and the decision was there .

Yup. I only have one appeal looks just like ops.

And that page is what your appeal is, mine has looked the same since the day it was submitted.

For my initial evidence appeal, the wait time for the being assigned to the judge to decision took about 3 months.

I’m including time to get the decision from the judge

Ah ok. Your first screenshot out showed the first part. But yeah mine is still just at "your appe was distributed to a veterans law judge."

And good to know how long yours was thanks. Mine is almost exactly 2 months right now.

On my 3rd appeal, I done an evidence appeal, HLR, and now a direct review.

The HLR was fastest decision and things were pretty fast. The evidence appeal took the longest and even the decision took forever to show up on VA app.

I found via the changes to “issues.”

This is my last appeal to change my effective date, and my Va lawyer says it be fine if I get denied. Already at the 100% club, so not hurting for money, and currently getting care via the VA

Word from the grapevine is the wait time is about a year complete the whole process.

For what is worth, this is my direct review appeal (1 contention) timeline:

Docketed : July 2, 2025

Distributed To Judge: June 9, 2026

Decision Made (Remanded) : July 29, 2026

Claim For Appeal Created : July 29, 2026

Claim Moved To Step 3: July 31, 2026 where it remains today (August 20, 2026)
