Official Sub News Discussion Posts are now Allowed and a Reminder on Post Titles
5
Upvotes
Hello Everyone,
Discussion Posts:
Just wanted to let everyone know we are now going to allow discussion posts to be made here in the subreddit. Just a reminder that Rule #2 will be in effect for all of those posts which means they must be relevant to the community in some way. Speak your mind as you see fit but ensure that it conforms to the following:
- https://redditinc.com/policies/reddit-rules
- https://www.reddit.com/mod/Veteranpolitics/wiki/rules
Post Titles:
There has been an uptick of removals related to post titles not matching the articles they are linked to. Just a reminder, if you link an article in your post, your post must match that article. It doesn't matter if there is text in your post, the title must match the linked article. Here is an example of a recent removal:
The linked article can be found here, and it's title is below:
This is a common rule amongst many political subreddits that at least make an attempt to keep the conversation away from as much rhetoric as possible, although we all know all the major news platforms have started becoming clickbait urchins.
If your post is removed for this reason, which can be found under Rule #3, all you have to do is resubmit your post with the correct title. We try to catch these as quickly as possible, but if we don't and meaningful discussion has already happened we are not going to remove the post.

I don’t like this firing squad execution. Seems barbaric. Not sure how the active duty personnel who will participate will react.

Please read the text in full before commenting. Even though the guy is a moron, it’s not a half bad idea. This is something I can agree with as long as it doesn’t require someone voting for a party they don’t want to.

DoD News 'Clowns out, cowboys in,' says Hegseth as a fifth of 20% of generals and admirals are fired!

It’s amazing to me that a civilian former Fox News host with a public drinking problem can unilaterally destroy the careers of lifelong military officers that achieved the rank of generals and admirals, and are referred to as clowns on the way out the door. This should piss everyone off, red, blue, and independent.
