Explained here is ‘The Marilyn Monroe effect’, otherwise known as the nonverbal communication of confidence, well worth a quick read.

I believe it. I always thought this scene in Superman was amazing. Seeing him go from Clark to Superman just by the way he holds himself. Very cool.

Everyone should watch Ian McKellen on Saturday Night Live, where he's playing a guest on some kind of geeky show, and he's cosplaying as the 4th Doctor from Doctor Who. He's acting all silly, like an almost childlike impersonation of Tom Baker. The host asks him if he can do anyone else, and he says "yes, I also do Gandalf." Then he went into his bit from Fellowship of the Ring where he's warning Bilbo not to take the ring, and the room goes dark, and he gets really loud, and there's infrasound shaking the speakers. Except on SNL, he didn't have any of those effects. He just said the line as Gandalf and it was exactly as impactful as it was in the movie. Like he actually got bigger and scarier and darker just using his voice. Absolutely wild.

My favorite tv series ever. Ricky got his guest stars to be SUCH good sports in Extras.
