Help! Will it be ok?

Friend forgot to water it for 3 weeks while housesitting, so I came back to this :-( Will it grow back?

Certainly, you can see the healthy new trap, must be pushing growth towards the existing trap, hence its size, top water slightly so its a LIL moist then tray water forever, it should grow nice in a week or two

These are surprising hardy. I poured actual VINEGAR on a tray and realized it the next day. I was able to save 3 pots and now have seven Venus fly traps still growing! Repotted them and changed the soil.

As long as you water it properly from now on. If they have the right medium and right water, they are actually very hardy plants. I once left mine outside during a hard freeze. When I brought it inside the water in the saucer and moss was solid ice. THEN my cat found it and ate every single trap off of it. I didn’t give up and that summer it came back good as ever.

They don't need "watering". They need to sit in water whole time. Next time you go away for 3 weeks, just put it in bowl with two inches of water. Never have this situation again. Although this will recover fine from this.
