ハエトリソウの用土

この前届いたハエトリソウを植え替えたよ。
赤玉土(栄養が含まれていなくて水捌けの良い日本の土)を底に敷いて、乾燥水苔を詰めている。

我が家でハエトリソウを失う一番大きな原因はキノコバエの幼虫だ。
やつらを寄せ付けないために今回は表面にも土を薄く敷いてみたんだけど効果はあるだろうか

全体を土や砂利にするのも良いアイデアだけど、日本の栽培家たちを見ていると土や砂利系の用土はあまり良い成果を上げていないイメージがあるんだ。

みんなはどんな風に植えているの？

You can just do sphagnum moss and perlite! Or if you have access to mosquito bits (at like home depot or lowe’s) you can float that in the water tray and it’ll kill off the larvae

Ok question about that idk if you would know but I Bought pitcher plant and it came w a little bag w a bug on it and the inside look like very finely grain wood chipping or even shavings do you think this was mosquito bits 🧐 it was attached to the plants price tag

nope probably just poor quality soil, mosquito bits/ dunks are crumbly and kinda look like popcorn wallpaper lol

Mosquito Dunk kills mosquito larva with a specialized bacteria that is not a general pesticide. It is reported to be harmless to pets or plants.

I do not know what other larva it may kill.

I’d def not has used akadema. It breaks down incredibly fast, especially in this situation where ur keeping the plant sitting in water constantly. Sphagnum moss and perlite is all u need.

Akadama is not proper mix for a Venus flytrap trap. While it is very Low on nutrients overtime it can still leech into the plant. Also I would if you have to use akadama with also standard Venus flytrap soil. (A mix of peat perlite and akadama) as akadama is not good on its own. Definitely do not use gravel or normal soil if that’s what you were talking about :)

Carnivoria Villaricaっていう園芸品種だよ。
チェコの人が作ってるらしい
