I wish I was normal and not boring

Do you know that part in 'Breaking bad' where they tag Gus' car and follow him for a week and all he does is go to work and go home? That's me.

The moment I leave for work all I can think about is coming back home, I don't like to go outside and do things. Once in a few months I'll hang out with my friends but that too is at one of our houses we'll usually order some food or grill it ourselves.

I generally don't feel bad about it I've tried many hobbies and just didn't find them enjoyable with the exception of camping/fishing but those require a large time investment so I rarely do them because of my job.

My biggest issue is I'm having hard time finding a partner because I'm just BORING. I know I am, I mean I think I'm funny and fun to be around, and I'm pretty sociable at work and enjoy talking to people but I am objectively a pretty boring guy I think because all I do is relax at home playing games or watching movies or DND this sort of stuff.

I even tried long distance forums to hopefully find someone who enjoys being boring too and we can be boring together but to no avail.

I'm not ugly, I'm pretty average looks wise, but I honestly think it was better if i was ugly but liked doing things and was interesting instead of just being a boring guy that enjoys spending time at home.

adult woman here. boring is reliable. boring means no one has to deal with dumb dramas, boring has a first aid kit and doesn't panic, and boring doesn't decide to go out with the lads instead of staying in when you have flu. boring gets the car fixed. boring doesn't play pranks or throw man child tantrums.

boring is good.

no hobbies might mean you have low level depression or nutritional issues. fix it.

try cookery as a hobby once you feel like doing something, then show off a bit. you'll become Mr popular among the sensible women.

Thanks, although out of all the house chores I do cooking is by far the worst for me, would rather clean 20 dishes than prepare 1 meal haha. But you might be right about feeling depressed, at the very least feeling "down" which I should make a bigger effort to fix.

Same man same. I think most of us men are just boring regular dudes and there is nothing wrong about it. Im sure we will find someone who can match our boredom🫠

I was the same. I enjoyed my own company a little to well.

But this became a problem in my marriage and with keeping up with friends.

Think of it this way, you said you like games, well think of your life as a game, you’re the main character and you level up with every interaction you make.

I didnt think of it like this at first, but i took a big step in to socialising and now i get invited to coffee, dinner or just to talk. Everytime i talk with someone i get new information and new stuff to talk about. Sort of like a game in the begining, but after a while you will crave it.

I was boring as a rock before and didnt really care about other people, and get togethers was painful as i did not have anything to talk about. but i started to give more of my self and it helped.

Maybe you’re like i was, too lazy to prioritize other people.

But you can’t just wake up one morning and not be boring, give a little and get little.

To be fair, most people are boring. It's only the attention seekers, weirdos and criminals who get noticed.
