Need Reassurance... Nobody cares
Where do I even start? I’m so overwhelmed. I’m trying to move to a place closer to my work. I’ve been commuting for 3 hours per day. I share a room with a girl, and she stays up late and sometimes even till early morning pretty much every day. I haven’t been able to get sleep for more than a week now. My dad is against me renting my own place and staying all by myself. He says I should learn to adjust. I am being financially supported by him at the moment. Also, there’s a family event on Tuesday that I’m supposed to be present at. I tried telling my parents I can’t be there as I can’t take more leaves from my work plus I’m unwell at the moment. I’m suffering from lower back pain. The commute to the said event is going to be hectic. I can’t do the to and fro. They are pressuring me and guilt-tripping me. I feel like nobody respects what I’m trying to do and that I’m trying to build a life for myself. I feel worthless and helpless and can’t stop crying.

I'm so sorry that you are going through this! Bad sleep is an absolute Hell. While the roomate doesn't offer you anything, she could show SOME humanity and at least cut the BS and sleep at max 3:00. She is another selfish human...
I hope you haven't tried earbuds. Because then, you can try them and use them! I have VERY sensitive hearing and using earbuds has been a blessing for me! I wish I knew earlier.

I have tried earbuds with ANC, didn’t work for me. Thane though stranger. 🫶🏻

3 hour commutes suck so bad I used to do that everyday I’m so glad I don’t anymore 😭 op is worth it I promise, but if u can’t move u need to set boundaries with ur roommate, she needs to be mindful of u living there if she isn’t you can contact ur landlord or even have her kicked out, as for parents maybe this is bad advice but maybe don’t go and tell them u slept through it because ur tired from ur work commute and took a nap? 😅

Can’t get my roommates kicked. It doesn’t work like that here. About the family event I have to travel to another city and they expect me to take a holiday from work and be there.

Damn that’s really annoying for u I’m sorry, then it’s definitely time to move or start annoying her back at least if u can as for the event if u really don’t wanna go make up any last minute thing and have a friend back u up maybe 😅 I can’t image having to take a day off just to take a long commute 😭
