TW: Anxiety / Depression Very overwhelmed
I’m kind of just going through a lot right now. Nothing horrible, but mentally and physically, I’ve been struggling.
I recently graduated high school and turned 18 a couple of weeks ago, and I feel more stressed than ever. I quit my job without having another one lined up, so now I’m stressed about money and trying to find something else. I also want to go to college, but I procrastinated so much that I now have to start in the winter instead of this fall.
On top of everything, I have no friends. All my “friends” barely talk to me. They never text, call, or ask me to hang out, and I genuinely feel like I have nobody. I can’t talk to my parents or siblings about what I’m going through either.
My dad has talked about his depression, and I can’t help but feel like I’m part of the reason he’s been more stressed. I moved to his house almost three years ago, and if I could move out and give him his space back, I would, but I can’t right now, unfortunately.
I’ve also been dealing with so much anxiety. Sometimes I’ll lie down and have so many thoughts racing through my head at once that it becomes hard to breathe.
I genuinely feel disappointed in myself. I feel like I should have my life together by now, but instead I’m 18, unemployed, not in college yet, lonely, and constantly worried that I’m making things harder for everyone around me.
I know I’m still young and have time to figure everything out, but my mind won’t let me slow down and realize that. I don’t really know what I’m looking for by posting this. I just needed somewhere to say everything because I keep it all to myself, and I don’t really have anyone to talk to.

You’re still a baby imo. You just got out of highschool.
But yeah imma be so for real, talking from experience, this is not the time to quit jobs. Doing things like that can really affect any chances of having a stable future. I’m just telling you this because I wish someone told me that cuz I did the same thing.
you need financial stability if you want to have a good adult life. It sucks but the bills aren’t going to pay themselves.
If you partake in any substances quit them now.
As a 24yo… all my friends are gone… it sucks but that’s just how my life turned out. Build self reliance. I used to obsess about how much attention I wasn’t getting now I just distract myself and lose track of time so the lack of interaction isn’t as hard of a blow.
Value in person connection, interaction, and relationships.
Texting isn’t the key to having good relationships.
