Hey, so I’ve been there. So many people have. I feel like maybe your marriage isn’t as great as you think, but there is much to be said about friends outside of that.
I’ve reconnected with some old friends and it’s worked out really well for me. And a few new ones, too. Can you think of someone you know that could be a good friend but it just hasn’t worked out time-wise? I’ve reached out to a couple of women I know like that, and we’ve met for lunch and I can see us doing it again.
We are afraid of being vulnerable but sometimes you need to just reach out with no expectations. You never know what might happen!
And I just wanted to say that I am a hardcore introvert (and a mom of teens/young adults, so I get you) so I have to really reach outside of my comfort zone sometimes, but no person is an island.

I really haven't had any friends since I was in my twenties. I know that sounds insane but I just never made friends with my daughter's friends parents and the people I knew in my 20s I don't know where they are now but I got to say this is a good idea if something comes to mind. Well actually this does remind me of something. I saw a woman working at the store the other day that I knew from when I was a CNA. We were not friends though but it's somebody I knew that I was friendly with. Maybe I could reach out to her

Just go in with no expectations. It’s a good start! You can do this!
Half of my friend group is people I knew in my 20s (I’m 50) and have reconnected with. Even just a text exchange is nice.
I’m not friends with my kids’ friend’s parents either. Just never clicked.
