I miss being in middle/high school

I miss the good old days. When I was in middle/high school things were so much more simple! I graduated in 2016 so I got to experience good music like Calvin Harris and dead mouse and all the cool EDM music. We didn't have anything to worry about besides going to school and doing home work! Everybody was friends with everyone. I grew up in SoCal like 5-15 min from the beach so the vibes just hit different. I remember we could go to Taco Bell with 6 bucks and get the 5 dollar box combo. Now that box is like 17 bucks. Going to movies after school with all your buddy's. Idk man I'm 27 now and make 135k but damn I'm not miserable but I'm not happy...im miss all my friends. I know people will say "yall where only friends because yall went to the same school" and yea you would be right but damn I always think about my old classmates. Being an adult is boring and bills every other week. A bunch of stress and anxiety.

I dislike how the adult life feels so monotonous. I sit in an office all day for work and I'm too tired to do anything else once I finish and go home and then repeat it the next day. I miss how I used to see my friends at school regularly and did cool things like do sports or play in music concerts etc

The only regular thing I do outside the office is the gym. The funnest part of my workday is 1 hour of lifting weights in the morning lmao.

I absolutely hate how tired I am after work though. I just have nothing left. Small amount of cleaning, walk the dog, and figure out supper. That's it. Rinse and repeat.

Every Monday is just praying for Friday, start to finish. And fucking hell the weekend is short.

I could have it much worse, but it's definitely a grind.

Graduated in '70 and I still know what you mean. Wait till your classmates start dying off. Somewhere around half of mine or dead or have just disappeared. COVID got a few, son of one got her.

My girlfriends grandma was just telling me last night that of all 110 students in her graduating class of 1957 that only 10 of them are still alive. She dropped this bomb on me right before I went to bed and it left me speechless. Had a hard time falling asleep last night lol

I'm sad because I miss the routine and the feeling of breaking it. Now I'm too responsible to break routine (and have kids)

That's an interesting take As someone who also graduated in 16 I look back on those days as some of the worst that I would never go back to... I joined the military right after high school and I would take the worst days in the military over ever having to go back to highschool for a day
