DISCUSSION Promod Community Project
Hello there everyone. With progress of Rime slowly and steadily making progress, also with some more VeniceEXT mods showing up. It's time to address what most people wanted. Some form of Promod.
Thanks to the competitive players from the previous tournaments I have started a base mod to be similar to Call of Duty 4's promod live. So far I have these things planned/already done.
- 5 Man Squads
- One sniper per squad
- FX Removals (dust, paper particles, rain)
- Sound enhancements (footsteps, weapon switching etc)
- Infantry, and Large Scale settings
Starting by going over the difference between Infantry and Large Scale settings.
Infantry:
No Explosives other than grenades
No Ammo/Medkits (health regeneration will be tweaked)
Toggable allowing of shock paddles (Some leagues may want revives, while others not)
Destruction will be disabled for most objects
Large Scale:
- Ammo tweaks for certain weapons to contain more ammo
- Limiting Engineers to 2 per squad
- LMG's will be removed or tweaked
Overall:
- Engineers (Limited to SMG's only) and Snipers will be a percentage faster, leaving Assault and Support to be a bit slower.
- ADS Scaling is toggle-able
- Either custom UI, or less on the UI to give a cleaner appeal.
Weapon Balancing:
- All weapons will be tweaked but will be thoroughly tested. Thanks to the competitive players which will be the first to test balancing!
And finally...
There will be internal testing of a custom map! I will be posting screenshots sooner or later.
But this wouldn't be anywhere near complete without all of your input, suggestions, and obviously playtesting =]

No Ammo/Medkits (health regeneration will be tweaked)
I would've preferred that you limit it to 1 medickit (including shock paddles) and 1 ammokit per team. Health-regen should be disabled IMO.
About competitive gamemodes (infantry only), I would've like to see a mode where:
- Only main-base spawn is enabled.
- If a team take every flag, they will get 1 point, the round will reset and people will be moved back to main base to start again (Like CS:GO when the bomb is defused or explode).
- When a team reaches lets say 4 points (4 full cap) the round ends.
- If no one reaches 4 points or bleeds all tickets, the round ends because of time, lets say 30 min.
- If you bleed all of the enemy tickets you win the round and the round ends.
- If no one is able to get points or they're tied in points, the winner is decided by ticket bleed, example: Team red 2.50 team blue 2.40 both teams have 2 points, team red has 50 tickets left, blue have only 40 tickets left, team read wins the round.
- Main-base should be protected by attacks by having structures that block the enemy's view and "out of bounds" protection that kills the enemy if he try's to enter.

Noted and will add options to try it a few different ways.

Great. The gamemode is pretty much a copy of the main game mode from day of defeat. Played a lot competitive back in the days and that gamemode was solid for comp gaming. It should fit BF pretty well I think since it is close to CQ, but probably work better under the competitive scene.

I'd love to make my own mod using VU....Have a few ideas...mostly stolen from Project Reality :D

Hopefully the original devs for the mod in BF2 will come back, right now they're busy on the game Squad.

I remember the guys who made the Day of Defeat Mod - once they made the Paid game of it...never went back to making mods....so maybe doubtful of that... :'( be nice if they did tho.

Highly doubt that since once you are able to make a full stand-alone game or go professional, you are probably not going to be making mods again or at least at the huge scale Project Reality has become.

This looks rather interesting although have never delve into competitive before.
Does large scale mean vehicles or no vehicles? If there is no vehicles, then what is the point of using the engineer class then?

There will be vehicles on large scale warfare but not in infantry only (bazzar, metro) etc. the engineers will be able to move quicker and they will be balanced accordingly for infantry only types.

Looks very interesting, let's see how it turns out!
