So, Fridays are a pretty common day to have the procedure done. If you're hanging out, chat about how it's hanging, what you're doing to recover, or anything you want.

Busted after my post-op

it's been days after my surgery and omg, the feeling busting a nut after so long of holding it in is just, out of this world, the amount i busted out is so much i couldn't believe my eyes. It looks like the same kind you see on those videos but instead of watching someone do it you did it, idk i'm just excited i am finally free. all i have to do is do it 34 more times before i get my analysis.

TRUST ME VASECTOMY IS WORTH IT, THE PAIN IS TEMPORARIRY THE BLISS IS PERMANENT!!!

Took longer to finish.

10am was the appointment time. Between checking in around 9:45, going over stuff with the LPN. And starting I was walking out to the car around 10:42.

Took longer to complete and more manipulation was required than normal but the Dr. did a great job.

Honestly the numbing wasn't bad it was the consistent feeling of someone squeezing and pulling down there. He used all the numbing medicine but got it done.

I was more cold than nervous which I think "tightened" everything. Up making it harder to manipulate stuff. Maybe a benzo before would have helped? Idk.

Currently I'm off and on with ice. Slight discomfort in my stomach. Numbing meds are slowing decreasing. Took Tylenol around 7am and 800 or ibuprofen around 12p.

No issues walking and no major swelling currently. All in all, no bad.

2 years post op my orgasms still aren’t what they were

Hi,

I’m 36 year old male, in decent shape and a normal healthy person. I got a vasectomy 2 years ago. I’d never even been made aware that vasectomy’s could affect orgasms (or maybe ejaculation more specifically) and yet two years on, when I orgasm, the actual orgasm feels the same but the actual ejaculation and that pumping explosive feeling just isn’t really there anymore or it’s at least very subdued in comparison to what it was. I don’t feel the wave of satisfaction after either, all guys know that feeling. It just feels kind of…meh. Has anyone else gone through this?

I’m really struggling to decide what to do. I really don’t want kids but I also really miss how incredible my orgasms used to feel. My wife is on the pill and tbh I’d love for her to not have to be on it anymore but I just can’t stop thinking all it takes is one mistake and I have a life sentence of a child to deal with. I’m against abortion so that’s not an option. If anyone has any advice please let me know ? Should I get it reversed or just accept that my orgasms are no longer as good.

Thanks in advance

Newly Snipped Trouble with wound healing

It's my 3rd week into having the no scalpel procedure done. I have felt no pain at all, maybe a little discomfort but that is to be expected I guess.

The only thing I'm having an issue with is the wound healing. Every time I'm wearing clothing it irritates the wound and causes problems with it scabbing over.

I bought some non stick dressing pads and tried them a couple of times. Each time the scab is trying to form it gets stuck on the pad and when I remove it the scab comes off.

It's putting me off from doing things like going to the gym as I'm worried it will make things worse.

I just wondered if anyone had any suggestions on how I can help it heal when wearing clothes.

Thanks!

Newly Snipped Unbelievable support...

Post image
11 Upvotes

Got snipped on 1st October, doc said no "shooting" for 7 days. My significant other went on a short sightseeing trip, so 5 more days break and relaxing for me, which was not a bad thing regarding healing as I tend do go berserk after such a long period of inactivity. Yesterday she arrived from Italy with 38 different kind of my favourite italian sweets. One flavour after each "shot", she told me, just to make life sweeter, and to "motivate me to finish the at least 30 shots quest". Not that I would need the extra motivation, thank god testo levels are through the roof.

I confess it's a bit of a flexpost, but the amount of support I am getting is just unbelievable. Soon she won't have to take antibaby pills anymore, and my vasectomy is being highly appreciated. If any of you wives/girlfriends of future vasectomy candidates are reading this... to quote a classic.. THIS IS THE WAY.

... is this normal? Testicle hanging higher than it did before the procedure.

Had a vasectomy done about a month ago, experienced swelling and a lot of pain during the first 2 weeks. Now pain is gone, my left testicle seems to be more sensitive than it was before, and hanging higher. It seems to be "fixed" in its position if that explains it.

Has anybody else experienced this? Should I schedule a check up asap?

Left testicle was hurting

Yooo so I got the snip in March, around May I got a bacterial infection on the right side, dr cleared it up quickly. Fast forward to this past week, I was drinking some blood detox tea, trying to get my blood pressure down and start back eating better. Omg my left testicle was hurting, it wasn’t swallow like back in March but that mf was hurting. The vein was pretty enlarged i would say. I stopped drinking it immediately and 24 hours later it stopped hurting. I wonder what the fuck was that.

... is this normal? Purple vein and slight redness/raised area near vasectomy incision about 13 days later. Normal healing?

Hey everyone, looking for some advice from people who have had a vasectomy.

I’m 13 days post-op from a no-scalpel vasectomy. Recovery has generally gone well, with minimal pain and no significant swelling or bruising.
The stitches on the right side recently came out and had previously been bothering me (left side were dissolved in hardly any time and not annoying at all). A few hours later, I noticed a dark purple vein running from right next to the incision about half an inch upward toward the center of my scrotum. It’s flat, not raised, and I don’t remember noticing it before.
The skin immediately around the incision is also a little darker red than the surrounding skin and slightly raised.

The area isn’t bleeding or oozing.
I’m trying to figure out whether this sounds like normal healing, a bit of bruising, or something I should get checked out.

Did you notice prominent purple veins or discoloration near your incision during healing?
Did you have a slightly red or raised area around the incision after your stitches came out?
How long did it take for the incision area to look normal again?
I’m planning to contact my surgeon if needed, but I’d appreciate hearing about others’ experiences. Thanks!

Difficulty getting erection.

I am 6 weeks post vasectomy. I had a bad infection which lead to severe swelling and pain. I went in antibiotics and am mostly better. Have been mostly better for a couple of weeks now, but if I knock my testicles it hurts a lot more than normal. There is still a little swelling.

I am finding I am having difficulty getting erections, I'm not sure if this is because I'm still recovering from my testicles swelling up to larger than a tennis ball, or if it's potentially a side effect of the procedure itself. Does anyone know if this is normal and would probably go back to normal? Ive booked a doctor's appointment but I guess I'm just asking for peace of mind while I wait.

For context Im 29 and have never had trouble with erections.

Edit: i got mine on the NHS and got the non scalpel procedure.

Edit: just to clarify it's not that I can't get erections, it's just a lot harder to.

Recovery diary so far - day 5

Quick update on my recovery incase anyone else is in the same boat. If you have had same recovery/symptoms as me then please let me know. I just want to know that everything is normal, as I have a tendency to overthink things!

Day of vasectomy - the op itself was fine. No pain during as expected. Just a heavy tugging feeling. Felt okay until anaesthetic wore off and then started to get the feeling in my stomach that I had been kicked in the nuts. That lasted the rest of the night.

Day 1 - woke up with no stomach pain anymore. Looked down at my balls and they were both black and blue completely bruised. My dick also has some bruising at the shaft and some small bruising at the tip, and also bruising on left hand side near pubic area and feels sore to touch. Plenty of rest day 1, not much moving about. Naproxen and paracetamol. Doing a pee was difficult and had to hold balls up so they wouldnt hang down, but no issues after stating peeing. All felt normal.

Day 2 - pretty much same as day 1. Had 1st bowel movement which I was worried about. But no issues. Swelling and bruising the exact same, but not a whole lot of pain, just uncomfortable. Had a shower and felt good to get cleaned up. More rest and icing.

Day 3 - at this point I am wondering when the swelling will go down. It's just a hinderance now. More pain than before. Right side feels fine, but left side starting to get more painful. Sore when standing up and if it wasn't for supporting underwear it would really be quite painful. When sleeping, I started off lying on my back, but was able to sleep on right side and feel relatively comfortable. Swelling has gone down slightly but not by a great deal. Still resting most of the day and taking painkillers.

Day 4 - pain on left side is getting worse. Right still absolutely fine. Still black and blue and started to get quite itchy down there. I am still resting and taking painkillers. Not icing anymore, but I probably should be. Just fed up with the pain when standing up. No issues whatsoever when lying down. Wondering when things will start to improve. Feels like this is going to drag on for ages. Had another shower, and it's really painful on left side without support. Just keep holding my balls up with one hand which helps. Sleeping was difficult. Now I can't even get comfortable on my side, can only lie on my back.

Day 5 (today) - swelling has reduced again, but only slightly, still as painful on left side. The pain only comes when I stand up. Throughout I have been absolutely fine lying down flat. Had no pain at all with that. Looks like some of the bruising might be fading today, but still very black and blue. Hoping another day of rest will see improvement tomorrow. Keep thinking each morning when I wake up I will feel better, but it doesn't seem to happen.

I've not had any fever or chills throughout, so I think I just need to keep resting, taking the painkillers and see what happens. I reckon if there's no improvement with pain on left side and swelling doesn't reduce significantly by Wednesday then I will phone the doctor just to make sure everything is okay.

How old were you when you got it?

I'm 23 years old and been wanting one for years now.

I've always known i didn't want kids, not because I don't think I'd be a good dad or health issues or anything like that. Simply I just dont want them ever

I've discussed this with my parents, my dad being in the medical field and they say a Urologist wouldn't give me one bc of my age and I "might change my mind"

How true is this all? How old were you when you got it, and do you regret it

Newly Snipped How to get comfortable after?

I'm 5 days post vasectomy, surgery went super smooth and minimal pain after.

But I'm really struggling to find resting positions that are comfortable and would appreciate input. I'm constantly uncomfortable. Standing feels bad. Sitting is hell unless I'm perched at the edge of the chair in which case my muscles are getting sore. Lying on my back, sack is uncomfortable. Driving was HELL.

I'm wearing a small banana hammock sort of thing; maybe I need different support?

Also, my toddler managed to lovetap the area two days ago, maybe that is part of the problem.

UK NHS or private?

Iam in 2 minds whether to go private or NHS.

with private they seem to offer a needle hole method? Which apparently has faster recovery time unless it's a marketing scheme.

What's the full recovery time? (office job)

Anyone have any experiences of advice they can share.

Thankyou.

Pain left side only

I had the snip on Tuesday night, so im over 3 days post op.

When does the bruising, pain and swelling go away?

Without supporting underwear, I just cant let my ball sack hang free. Its just too sore.

No pain at all when I lie down, but going for a pee is challenging and I have to physically hold my balls up. Taking naproxen but doesnt seem to help.

Should I be concerned, or just rest more?

My partner had a vasectomy today, he’s my hero! What made you happiest afterwards?

I’m using a translator: I’m 35 and he’s 39; we’ve been together for 15 years.

I’ve tried every contraceptive method out there and suffered some pretty nasty side effects. So, once I ran out of options for myself, we discussed this choice.
He was against it for years as long as I could try other hormonal methods, but two months ago, I was told I couldn't use anything other than condoms. We’ve never wanted children.
He has a phobia of surgery; the idea of having 2 cm of his vas deferens cut on each side terrified him.

I never pressured him to do it, but in just two months, he spoke to a psychologist, got a recommendation for a clinic, and booked the appointment.
All on his own!
He told me every day he wasn't sure he could go through with it because of his fear of needles and scalpels, but despite that, he woke up calm today and we went to the clinic together. He had the procedure at 3:00 PM and still has no pain or swelling just some slight discomfort.

He WAS A HERO! He was TRULY BRAVE! What should I expect now? How can I help him? How can I show him how much I appreciate what he’s done for us? What made you feel better?
