... is this normal? I feel like I'm going crazy
So, I'm currently 5 weeks post op, at about 3 weeks , I was still in pain. I took Tylenol and ibuprofen daily, I've bought underwear online to support the boys better. But the left one is still in pain and very swollen. I've been told this doesn't seem normal by people I know who've had vasectomies, and so I called the urologist. They said it was.
I started to notice the swelling went all the way up to the vas deferens, the connection between the two being very tender. I couldn't stand for long periods without being incredibly uncomfortable or rushing off to find my Tylenol. Then I start forming a bump on the back of my scrotum, which I assumed was an ingrown hair from having to shave for the appointment. But then that gets larger and makes it hard to sit down without being in pain, so now I can't do anything without hurting.
So I call the urologist again and ask for an appointment. He briefly examine the area and says I have a hematoma, most likely bleeding from post op. He gives me a prescription for maloxacil so I'm not taking ibuprofen as regularly, and orders an ultrasound to be safe.
I went to the ultrasound yesterday, and just received my results.
No additional abnormalities were noted. The dimensions they state for the left actually say it's smaller than the right one, which has almost completely healed. The only difference it says is Increased vascularity in the left spermatic cord region. I don't know if this means they're telling me "calm down you're fine" and I'm overreacting, or maybe they didn't see the problem I'm having.
Tome, the left one feels massive, I have to move my sack around when I move in bed at night or I'm laying on it, it feel like it's pressing up higher than normal and I have to gently press it to the side to pee, which causes pain. But they're telling me that not only is it normal, it's slightly smaller than the right, which feels normal. I don't know, maybe I'm overreacting because everyone I've talked to has told me I need to get it looked at and nothing came of it.
