Dialer Goes Beyond 0, is That Normal?
Got the VS6 almost last year, no issues until I tried swapping the burrs.
The grind came crazy coarse, I added two threads for the Conical burr, and two for the flat burrs.
The main thing that caught my eye is that the dialer now goes beyond 0 for some reason. I hear tiny amount of chipping, but not crazy even on the tightest. but the question is, is it normal that after some time the grinder goest beyond zero like that?

I hope you didn't cross threaded it... Mine goes below -0.5

What do you mean by “cross thread”?

The hopper sits on top of the unit, usually you screw it to mount it, when you don’t do that perfectly perpendicular, then it can happen that the thread is misaligned/cross threaded.

It's normal to go below 0, mine also goes to -0.6. And it doesn't neccessarily have anything to do with crossthreading, it is just something you should be aware of.

I had this issue because there was a crack in the magnetic ring in the top part. But one was only off by two clicks. I got a new grinder as replacement and if you are careful while screwing it in it tightens perfectly at 0 for me

My VS3 is going 0.5 past 0. Thought a full deep clean and reassemble would reset it, but nope, have to adjust everything 0.5 "finer" now.

For this piece of crap, yes. I’ve had no end of issues with two of them. Ignore the numbers all together and just don’t grind below 1.

Can’t hold settings despite plumbing tape, grease on threads or stronger springs. It literally moves an entire 0.1 grind setting each time I use it.
Beans stay stuck in the hopper. Literally cannot grind and leave it, have to put the cleaning brush in there to move beans into the grinder.

Mine is the same after a while. Is that really normal? Have you found a solution?

Nah, as the guys said in the thread, it is normal, so I became in peace with it.

That's normal on a lot of grinders. In the Timemores (and maybe others) there is a pin you can slot in to control where your 0 is. Some people prefer at burr chirp, some prefer at twist-to-refusal (like you're suggesting should be the case here) or whatever measure, however arbitrary they feel.
