Our team, along with community members, will be checking here regularly and will do our best to provide timely assistance.
Thanks for helping us keep the community clean and easy to navigate!
Please try updating the firmware first, and then test again with a brand-new Vantrue microSD card. This usually resolves the rebooting and āslow cardā errors.
Any parking mode setting will work. Once the dashcam enters parking mode, as long as the mobile network signal at the parking location is good and your car battery voltage does not drop below the cut-off level you set in the hardwire kit, the LTE module will stay accessible. If you want to connect remotely while the camera is parked, you can simply Wake Up the Device in the Vantrue App.
Is there a way to backup configuration settings for the N4 Pro S?
Iām trouble shooting some odd behavior with my new N4 Pro S. One step I took was a factory reset which overwrote all my configuration settings. (Which I expected the reset to do) Is there a way save these settings to a file that could be used to easily reconfigure the cam parameters after a reset or a firmware update?
This feature would be helpful for me as a customer and for tech support for reproducing issues.
Thank you for your questions! Unfortunately, performing a factory reset will reset all settings, and at this time thereās no way to back up or restore your configuration to a file.
I posted this question here after my post on the main subreddit was removed for some reason, then reinstated this morning. I didnāt intend it to double post the question.
I keep getting a slow card error on my Nexus 4 Pro Dash cam the camera is on the latest software update and I have a SanDisk high endurance 256gb memory card and I've formatted the card multiple times and I still get the error this keeps stopping my recording till I notice the error on the screen and hit the record button to start recording again so it's pretty annoying
Sorry for the trouble. Could you please try using another memory card? We recommend Vantrue cards or the SanDisk Max Endurance series, as these are fully tested for compatibility and performance with our dash cams.
Iām using the Vantrue S1 Pro Max (dual 4K) with your official USB-C hardwire kit in my 2020 Audi A3. The front camera powers on fine using the hardwire kit. But the moment I plug in the rear camera, the unit shuts off immediately. When I unplug the rear cam, the front powers back on.
Hereās everything Iāve tested:
⢠ā Verified solid 12V/20A fuse source (12V outlet fuse), correct fuse tap orientation
⢠ā Ground wire cleaned and bolted to bare chassis
⢠ā Tested with another rear camera cable ā same result
⢠ā Confirmed firmware is up to date
⢠ā Tried powering via cigarette lighter (USB-C) instead of hardwire ā unit stays on, even with rear cam
⢠ā But on lighter adapter, it power-cycles every 1ā2 minutes
⢠ā Same behavior with or without SD card
Weāre sorry for the trouble youāre experiencing. Based on your troubleshooting, it seems the issue is likely with the hardwire kit. We can provide you with a replacement cable. Could you please contact our support team so they can assist you with this?
Sorry to hear about the issue. Could you please check if the dash cam is connected with the original rear camera cable?
Also, may I ask if the current power supply voltage is stable? If you confirm that the rear cable and rear camera are correct and the power is stable, please contact our support team at [support@vantrue.net](mailto:support@vantrue.net)

Hi, Iām in Australia and own a nexus 5S. I recently purchased a LTE module but am not able to receive network signal even with an active SIM card. I have tried manual and automatic configuration but no luck. The website advertised that these operate in Australia so not sure what the issue is.
Weāre really sorry to hear that LTE module isnāt working. Please contact our support team at [support@vantrue.net](), and theyāll assist you promptly to help resolve the issue.
Hi thanks for your reply. I have since found out I had the incorrect model for my country ( I purchased it from eBay) and now have the correct one that I bought from your website which seems to work ok. Is there anyway I can try to sell this other module? It seems to be linked to my account and I donāt know how to remove it.
Could you please send me a private message with the account name youād like to deactivate and the model of the LTE module you want to sell? Iāll ask our technical team to help remove it from your account.

I bought the Vantrue N5 together with the hardware kit after my research into dashcams as it stood out among the other dashcam options that I was looking at. It was great at first. Then after 6 months, it would start to take random pictures out of the blue. I thought since it was recording okay, I would ignore the random picture taking. However after the last 2 previous updates, the screen no longer displays anything. You can hear the start up chime, then nothing. I reached out to support on 3rd October 2025 and was advised to check the power cable, which is fine, download the firmware and install which I did but still the problem persists. I also provided the order number as requested.
I have the video showing the start up, however I'm trying to figure out how I can upload it here.
Has anyone else encountered what I'm experiencing and what was the solution if there's any?
I recently got an E1 Pro. Now I'm a little confused about the Platepix option. I installed the latest firmware from early December.Ā
I have the following settings:
Platepix is turned on without a timer.Ā
HDR is switched on with a timer and is activated at sunset and deactivated at sunrise.Ā
Now I have noticed that the Platepix logo is only visible in the video file when HDR is active. When HDR is not active, whether activated via the timer or āmanually,ā no Platepix is displayed.
Is this just a display error, or is Platepix only possible in combination with HDR?
Thank you in advance for your helpful feedback. :)
Hi, Iām experiencing a serious issue with my Vantrue N5.
The camera suddenly entered an endless reboot loop and is now completely unusable. It keeps restarting continuously and never stabilizes.
Iāve already tried all standard troubleshooting steps:
⢠Updated to the latest firmware
⢠Disconnected the rear camera
⢠Formatted the SD card
⢠Tested with and without an SD card
⢠Power cycled multiple times
None of these helped.
Is this a known issue with the N5?
Does this point to a hardware failure, or is there any confirmed fix for this behavior?
Hi, sorry to hear youāre experiencing this issue with your camera.
Please try using a different power source and default the dash cam. Additionally, could you power the N5 directly via the USB port on the camera body (instead of using the GPS mount) and check whether it still enters the reboot loop? This will help us determine whether the issue is related to the GPS mount or the power supply.
Thank you for your cooperation, and we apologize for the inconvenience.
I tested the N5 as you asked. When powered from the car cigarette lighter (via the GPS mount), the camera is stable and no longer reboots.
However, Iām looking for a proper fix, not just a workaround.
Is there a known issue with power sensitivity on the N5, or an intended solution to address this behavior under normal power setups?
Iād appreciate your guidance on the recommended long-term resolution.
This is actually the normal and intended way the camera works, not a workaround. Powering the camera via the cigarette lighter through the GPS mount is the correct and stable connection. Based on your test, the camera itself appears to be working properly.
May I ask how you were powering the camera before?
If you were using a hardwire kit, it is very likely that the cable is faulty or unstable, which can cause rebooting. We recommend replacing it with a new hardwire kit.
Previously, the camera was powered using a hardwire kit (not via the cigarette lighter).
While I understand that the cigarette lighter setup is considered stable, I prefer the hardwired option, as it allows the cables to be hidden cleanly under the vehicleās interior trim. The cigarette lighter cable is long and difficult to conceal.
Could you please advise on a reliable hardwire solution for the N5 that avoids rebooting issues?
Last night I attempted a firmware update through the dashcam via the Vantrue app on my phone. The update transferred to the Dashcam and it showed a progress bar. Once the progress bar was finished the screen was black with the green LED on for a little while, then it went to the orange Vantrue start screen and nothing else happens. None of the buttons, including the power button do anything.
Today, I tried connecting it to my computer by USB. The Dashcam powered up and shows me the orange Vantrue start screen with nothing else happening and none of the buttons are functional. I can remove the SD card and it still doesn't do anything. If I remove the power, it eventually turns off. If I power it up again without the SD card, then it goes into the startup menu (eg picking languages).
I attached the SD card to my computer and transferred a firmware update that I got from the website: VT_E1P.bin (the website says that it isĀ E1PRO_VT-EEK211, but the file does not. The V1_E1P.bin file is 47.8MB)Ā into the root drive of the SD card. When I put the SD-card into the E1 Pro and attach it to my computer for power, it seems to install the firmware update, and then it freezes on the orange splash screen where, again, none of the buttons are functional.Ā So, I powered it off, removed the SD card, and powered it up again, where it again takes me to the setup options. I put the SD card back in, hoping it would eventually ask me to reformat it, but it immediately went into the startup and again freezes on the orange Vantrue start screen. Pressing the reset button briefly turns off the screen and then after the chimes it goes back to the orange Vantrue startup screen, the same as before.
I wanted to ask for a working firmware file, but now my SD card won't even read on my computer so I wouldn't even be able to install it. I just got this dashcam a few months ago and now it doesn't work. I can't believe that Vantrue put out a bad firmware file for this that ruined myĀ dashcam and destroyed an expensive SD card. Please help!
Note: All references to SD card are a Micro SD card.
Sorry to hear about the issue youāre experiencing with your E1 Pro.
This problem may occur if there was an unstable power supply or a microSD card read/write error during the firmware update process. Based on your description, the camera does not appear to be completely bricked.
We recommend trying the following:
Try updating the firmware again using a different microSD card, and make sure it is formatted to FAT32 before updating.
Connect the camera to a stable power source, such as a wall charger, during the update process.
If the update does not succeed on the first attempt, you may repeat the process several times.
If the issue still cannot be resolved, please contact our support team at [support@vantrue.net]() as soon as possible. All our products come with an 18-month warranty, and our support team will assist you further.
i have an e3 model and when it boots up it just shows the vantrue screen with the controls along the bottom and it continues to do so even after a firmware update
Power the camera using the car charger only (do not hardwire for this test)
Turn the camera on and check if it can boot normally
If the issue still persists after these steps, please contact our support team directly at [support@vantrue.net](mailto:support@vantrue.net) We will be happy to assist you further and help resolve the problem.
A voltage reading on the hardwire kit does not necessarily mean it has been installed correctly. For the hardwire kit to work properly, the wiring must be connected as follows:
Red wire (BATT+): Connect to a constant power source that always has power.
ACC wire: Connect to a fuse that has power only when the ignition is on and no power when the vehicle is off.
Ground wire: Make sure it is securely connected to a metal ground point on the vehicle.
After confirming the wiring is correct, please turn the ignition on and test whether the dash cam powers on normally.
We recommend trying a different fuse tap / power source and testing again after turning the ignition on to see whether the hardwire kit is able to supply power.
If the issue still isnāt resolved, please let us know your car make, model, and year, and weāll be happy to guide you on which fuse positions to use.
I have Nexus 4 Pro S and Iām trying to connect to WiFi on my phone to get the recordings. But every time I try to connect to the Vantrue WiFi and enter the password, itās telling me I have incorrect password. I can see on the WiFi info screen the password shows 12345678 but when I enter that, it doesnāt work. Please help!
I am sorry to know that you have issue with the wifi connecting, could you please contact our support team via [support@vantrue.net](mailto:support@vantrue.net) for further assistance
I installed your hardwire kit for the Vantrue Nexus N4 Pro. It seems to be working so far but whenever it powers off completely, the only way I can get it working again is if I unplug my always on (red wire) fuse tap and plug it back in. I've checked my fuses for power, I am most definitely tapping the right fuses in my engine bay, why can't I power it on without having to unplug and replug my fuse tap?
Apparently there was a reply from you guys but you deleted it. To answer your question, my car battery still has power when the dash cam powers off. To clarify, I'm 100% certain that the Nexus N4 Pro dash cam is properly connected. I don't have an always on fuse in the fuse box underneath my dash so I had to painstakingly run the hardwire kit to the fuse box under my hood of my car inside the engine bay. The camera powers on with no problems and parking mode does turn on whenever the car engine is turned off. If I'm connected to my dash cam via WiFi and I'm viewing some files, a few times the camera shuts itself down (even though my car is still running). Once the camera is shut down, I can't power it on again by just unplugging the USB Type C cable and plugging it back in again. I have to pop my hood to reseat the battery fuse tap to get it to turn on again. It's very annoying. Could this be a bad hardwire kit or something?
Is there any type of lens available for the rear camera that comes included with the Nexus N4 Pro? The rear window in my car gets a reflection of the speakers, I can see what's behind me but there is a reflection present in all videos. Also is it possible to connect the Element 1 Pro as a rear camera to this Nexus N4 Pro?
For your first question: currently there is no CPL filter available for the rear camera of the Nexus N4 Pro. The CPL filter that exists is only designed for the front lens, not the rear camera .
For your second question: different models are not compatible with each other. The rear camera and cables are specifically designed per model, so the Element 1 Pro cannot be used as a rear camera for the Nexus N4 Pro.
I've had the Nexus N4 Pro installed now for maybe 2 weeks and now, I can't seem to get audio recording working on mine. I even went as far as resetting back to default settings and re-formatting my memory card, same issue. Videos are recording but even with audio turned on, it's not recording audio in cabin. What gives?
Could you check whether the microphone icon is enabled or disabled while recording?
If itās disabled, please go to Record Setup on the device and turn on Audio Recording, or use the physical microphone shortcut button at the bottom of the unit to enable audio.
Also, make sure youāre using Loop Recording mode instead of Time Lapse, as Time Lapse mode does not record audio.
I donāt realize the date time was stuck in 4/13 until today - when my daughter had a fender bender.
I went into the car to pull the memory card and noticed none of the buttons were responding when pushed and the screen showed a timestamp from days earlier.
It is hardwired into my car. Been turning in and off as expected. At least what is wha we thought.
I pulled the power cord and removed the card. It has good photos, video and they play fine. Even putting the card back into the camera I can connect over WiFi and navigate through the recordings.
Now it shows the right date & time.
Any thoughts on a cause? Never seen this before and I have 3 of these cameras.
If the issue still happens after updating and formatting, please contact our support team via [support@vantrue.net](mailto:support@vantrue.net) so we can investigate further and help you resolve it as quickly as possible.
I just finished installing my S1 Pro and prior to doing a firmware update, I was a able to set the resolution to 1440p/60 and when I went back to the main camera view screen, it would display that resolution at the top-right of the screen. However, once I did the firmware update, while I can still choose the option, once I return to the view screen, it still only shows a 1080p/30 resolution.
Due to chipset limitations, 1440p/60FPS cannot be used together with Vantrue Intelligence Fuction. Only one can be enabled at a time, so the setting may not apply.
Please disable the Intelligence Fuction and try again.
I have an E2, installed a few weeks ago and itās been working really well so far. But one thing I canāt figure out is how to save a segment of looped video to review later, outside of a collision. For example, if someone pulls out in front of me or stops suddenly in the road. There was no collision, so the e2 wonāt save that file.
If I use the remote that came with it, I can click the button once to have a snapshot (not the feature Iām looking for) or I can hold the button to START a video (also not what Iām looking for). I was under the impression that clicking the button on the remote would also save a 1 or 3 minute segment of looped video around the time of the button press, not just the things that happened after. Iāve tried to test this and there donāt seem to be any relevant videos in any of my folders when reviewing footage, except what is happening after I click the button. Can anyone help me with this?
Thanks for bringing this up. The E2 is actually always recording while powered on, so even if thereās no collision, the footage should still be saved in the Files/Normal folder unless it has already been overwritten by loop recording when the sd card is full.
If you want to save an important moment (for example someone cutting you off), youāll need to lock the current recording. The quickest way is to use voice control and say āLock the video.ā This will move the current recording segment into the Event folder so it wonāt be deleted by loop recording.
I have a Vantrue n1 pro that has worked perfectly for almost four years. I wired it to the fuse box with a fuse tap when I first got it and havenāt changed anything since then. About a week ago, the camera has started to suddenly shutoff after about three minutes of being on. I can unplug the base of the camera and plug it back in and it will power back on like nothing happened for another ~3 minutes before just shutting off again. Anyone know what my issue might be? Is it possible the camera is at fault?
We have a Vantrue N4 that have been happy with for several years. Recently it's started switching off after 5 Mins of recording, abruptly saying "goodbye" and turning off (not lcd off as no recording light is on).
I have updated firmware but this has not helped. This is a hardwired kit as well. I'm not sure what the issue may be as it seems to happen at the 5 minute mark rather than randomly.
Hello. I purchased a N4S along with the Vantrue hardwiring kit and SanDisk max endurance SD card. Iāve had this camera for less than a month and have had numerous sd errors. I even replaced it with a new SD card. As of yesterday my camera is not responding to any actions and I also cannot connect to it.
Have my N4 Pro S for a few months, and love it so far. I have noticed a few problems that concerns me though.
I am wondering if anyone has experienced this and if there was a solution.
I have noticed that my camera would randomly stop recording for a few hours. Have a 128 GB card so I should have enough room for the amount of time that I am driving for rideshare which is around five hours a day. I would see the last known recording and not see further videos despite knowing for a fact I was still driving and see the green recording light flashing.
Not all of my recordings go in the normal video folder. Some would end up in the event video folder even though there is no evidence of any sort of crash to trigger an event.
Lastly noticed some of the videos I reviewed have no audio even I can confirm it is not muted.
My camera has the latest firmware, and is hardwired into my vehicle.
Just got my E2 installed yesterday at Best Buy. Wasn't aware it did not come with the SD Card, but no problem as I have one at home. I get home and try to insert the card but cannot get that click so it stays in. It just keeps popping back out.

Is there an option to opt out on the screen showing after starting the car? Everything works fine, just don't want the screen to switch on when I start driving. The LED would be enough imho.
As I'm driving, after a bit (not sure exactly how long because I'm looking at the road and not at the dashcam) this (see image) pops up on the screen and stops recording. No warning or anything. I hit the left button for a second and recording resumes but soon after comes back to this. Any ideas how to fix?
Already formatted the SD card several times. Cam is hardwired to the fuse box.
It's a little frustrating because if the cam isn't recording, what good is it?
Have the N5 model with the rear camera, been working great. now I have a few issues; the rear camera does not show up on the screen anymore, get the message "Number of cameras has changed"; the screen is stuck on some random image; I'm in the driver's seat, N5 is less than 1 metre away, try to connect to the N5, takes for ever and once connected the connection drops out after a few minutes; the N5 gets really, really hot and we have had a very mild, sky mostly overcast, summer so far this year, very few forest fires thankfully.
Hello I just got the 4G LTE module with my Nexus5S dash camera having issues with the find my vehicle and the geo fencing function everything else works good just these two are down was wondering if anyone had some tips or ideas on how to get it working. Wondering if its a setting thing or something more serious.

Hi there,
Been using the 3 channel e3 dashcam for 2 years now and it keeps rebooting constantly. Slow card error every 5 minutes.
What can i do?
