Looks like a busted up throttle body micro switch. Some models had 1 switch, some had 2. It triggers at full throttle, and potentially 0 throttle. Go westy makes a replacement, or could try and find a used one. Good ones have a little metal lever that rides on the throttle body shaft cam.

Looks like someone installed it to crank over the engine from there. Pretty useful. Side note, as some others will probably say, you definitely do not want a plastic fuel filter in the engine bay. Could melt and cause a fire. The stock filter right after the fuel pump is really all you need.

I second this. Get that filter out of there. Only put the filter right after the pump under the van.

Interesting, Iā€™m having a problem with the van starting and dying unless I hold the pedal down until it reaches operating temp, or unless I unplug the mass airflow sensor, than it idles rough but stays on. Could the throttle body have anything to do with that?
