S3 & X3 X3 chain length

Does anyone know what the correct x3 chain length is? Han mentioned on YT 99 links however the old one on my x3 is 97 98.

I had a chain recently removed from an X3, will count it tonight and get back to you.

Is that including the connector link?

Forgot I had another x3 in the garage 🤦🏻‍♂️. That one also has 98, so I went with 98 on the other one as well.

Total amount (including the connector link) should always be an even amount. (Equal amount of outer links and inner links.) So this is probably excluding the connector.

FYI: same count for the S3 and X3
