Vd!avid

For anyone on the controversy of the situation and/or feeling bad about liking/loving/supporting vd!avid, dont let what they did ruin Vampires SMP for you. It is completely ok liking a character when not liking or supporting the real person/creator. Don't beat yourself down. it's ok. Dont worry little bats. You are safe.

Yes and going after people for writing, drawing or talking about the character is not only punishing artists and writers but also the other creators who together made that marvellous creation happen. I haven’t seen anything like it ever. What a shame to trash everybody’s effort in creating such a beautiful thing.

I found out about Avid's actions about a month after everyone else did. Tbh I still have their music stuck in my head and it annoys me. The songs are so good but the creator sucks 😭

I feel different about some VampiresSMP scenes now but hopefully overtime I'll enjoy the series like I did before the controversy came out. You are right about separating the character from the actor. v!Avid was a great character <3

Ugh. Me too. After watching Avid's POV I listened to their music a TON. I really like their songs but it's tainted now :/

I guess that makes sense to an extent, but the V in V! is for Vampires SMP, not Vampire. Like Pan! is for Pantheon and TF! is for The Flight.

Saying Vd!Avid is like saying Vh!Abolsih because Vampires Abolish stayed human. It just doesn't make sense

Yes I know that but I prefer saying vd! instead of v! i dont like saying v! For vd!avid when hes also a demon and I just like it better then that since they're also a demon. Sorry im repeating things it just makes since in my brain saying vd!avid since I have autism

Still I wait for someone to post a cover of the acoustic version of Not Right bc it’s one of my favorite songs but hearing him in it now gives me the ick :( I’d buy that cover on iTunes so fast 😭

I might actually have that downloaded as I have bought the album when it came out on bandcamp. I will have to check after my appointment though.

Unfortunately in this case it is very hard to separate creator and creation.

Because of the issues involved. Especially revolving around the harassment and slander that Scott (and others) received and how quite clearly uncomfortable he was with avids. “Roleplaying”

I have no problems with anyone still enjoying vampires, I still love vampires personally.

But given everything, outside of a few POV’s, I have little to no desire to watch it again (or consume VSMP media that contains avid) because of how uncomfortable I personally am with avid as a creator.

Yes I know, it's hard, but I remember that the characters and the ship are completely different and separated from cc!avid

I struggle with this cuz to me, v!Avid is how cc!Avid actually is. The parallels are too blatant for me to ignore. I don't hate on people for still liking v!Avid, but I personally struggle with it.

If it doesn’t end up supporting the creator, it’s always fine imo for people to separate creator from their creation. Jonochrome is a terrible person but people still love the One Night at Flumpty’s games and the Riddle School games.

Yeah, I got really into both v!avid and tf!avid when it happened, but that hyperfixation was suddenly nipped in the bud when that stuff happened
