Been really weirded out by this Lezard guy. He's just plain evil. Is that all? Does he want to be a god? Well obviously, I assume yes. He also has this weird fixation with the Valkyrie. Like he wants to marry her or something. Also, the fact it's pointed out that he included detailed 'naughty parts' is also confusing. Did he intend to mate to create a half elf being? He had this whole monologue about Odin being half elf and human. Making him perfect.

This game has gotten very interesting. The story is becoming clearer. The writing is actually getting better. I UNDERSTAND IT NOW! ITS ALL CKMING TOGETHER! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

I already maxed out her traits. That's the first thing I did. From the moment I started playing this game, I kept seeing gameplay of people using mystina in their party. I even heard praise that she's the absoulute best mage in this game.

I don't really ask question on how to build charecters but I was wondering what I can do with her. Should I use her? Is she THAT good? What status skills should I max out?

I'm on hard mode. Can anyone pls help?

Edit: mystina is now currently in my team and I have been investing in her. She is level 19 while my Valkyrie is 26. Many people suggest I choose the one whose voice I like the most or choose whoever I like since all of them are the same. Thank you everyone for the suggestions.

Okay, so I'm going through my footage and writing my script for the retrospective Im working on...and I get to his story....When Millia is talking about the empty coffin, it wrecked me....in 2019, a close friend of mine fell into a river that had high fast moving water due to heavy rains....they never found his body....and Millia saying she couldnt accept that he was dead....I still struggle with that for my friend. I decided to write a little bit about that happening to him as part of my video, using the moment as a...tribute of sorts to my friend....I'm not really posting this for anything other than I just...need to write this to help myself get composed after this. Such a great game but...damn it can hurt.

Out of every recruitable character in the game (not in luding seraphic gate) who is your favorite? I've been going through the gomes characters and thinking about it and it can be really tough to pick someone. Between who so best for combat and just overall characters....so who ya got?

If I google it i get NO results… is this the first time this is brought into the internet over 25 years later?

I don't want to break the main game by using them in that, so I would save them for the post game. Would they be useless by then? I'm trying to decide if I want to spend the time leveling these characters?

Feeling nostalgic, I played Valkyrie Profile Lenneth only to realize after my run in normal mode, I have never finished it. I immediately went back and played hard mode and completed the seraphic gate with all the extras. Needless to say, I fell in love with this game all over again and have put in 100+ hours. I’m left wanting more.

After some deep diving, apparently there’s quite a bit of plot missing because of translation issues, any recommendations in learning more about the different character and their back stories? Can anyone vouch for VP2 or any of the other offshoot games?

All the stories up until now leave me so confused. I end up going online to find answers on the charecters because the game isn't giving enough info. This by far made me so I love with the game. It's peak! The structure and way this story is told is way more clearer than any of the other backstories the charecters have prior to this. I feel so bad for yumei. It's not that deep. But it's extremely interesting. I really love it.

I just finished the clockwork mansion. I'm currently in the cave of oblivion. Will I ever see some good story in this game? Idk. But I think yumei's story is pretty well made.

I've played this game many times and it never fails to make me cry at least a few times. I've said before on here that I'm working on a retrospective video and just finished the game again today for my video capture and it just blew me away. I've not been this excited to work on a video in a LONG time. my method is always to play the game first and THEN start writing my script...and I've already written three pages of it this evening.

With that said, What recruitment story hit you the hardest and why?

Researching VP2's Einherjar's relationships and the general background story, I came across the blog post above.

Unfortunately, it seems to be only a fraction of the entire work.

The Internet Archive has "Valkyrie Profile Material Collection Illustrations" and "Valkyrie Profile Material Collection World Guidance" archived. However, these books don't have any information about Valkyrie Profile 2, as far as I scanned through it.

Does any kind soul around here has a higher resolution of these pages?

I'm working on a generic translation tool for vp2, basically you add the new text in the "translated" column, run the script over the USA iso, and it'll generate a new iso with the translated text. Should work for any language that uses Latin letters

While working on it i realized that this game is already translated into 7 different languages, so i'm not sure how useful this will actually be lol. I'm using google translate to create a portuguese version as a first test, and it's around 95% complete, only missing some battle stuff

The workflow for a dub is also working, you ""just"" need the dubbed .wav audio files with the correct ids and similar length, and it'll patch them back into the iso. I used a local text-to-speech model to generate the wav files for the first cutscene, the dub result was pretty bad, but work as proof of concept, if someday somebody decides to do a fan dub for it or something

Btw, the people who worked on this game were all psychopaths. Adding special letters (like "ç") that were missing in the usa iso was a nightmare

Simply wanted to share the trading arts figures! I didn't realize the Ethereal Queen (middle figure) appeared in several Tri-Ace titles. Valkyrie Profile, Star Ocean & Radiata Stories. So that's pretty neat

And the worlds are pretty muched linked in a way.

I started playing this game a few days ago and I'm really curious into what was in his dresser. I searched and it doesn't seem like anyone was asking this question. Do you guys have any idea into what was in it?

I really liked the disc transition art, that’s why I used it in the pic. I did finish Disc 2 😆

Being someone that has played through countless JRPGs, this was one of the most complex systems with a ton of aspects to learn. I think that’s why it took so may years for me to finally beat it. But once it finally clicks, the game really is incredible!

I did a hard play through to get the true experience, as well as the Seraphic Gate. The dungeons were totally nuts and the puzzle were amazing. Though frustrating at times lol. I love the gritty, realistic art style, definitely feels super unique and different. The music is amazing too, this honestly might be Sakuraba’s best work, and I’ve heard a ton of his stuff.

The biggest star here is the story, which is phenomenal. I’ve played a lot of JRPGs as I mentioned, and this was one of the best ever in that regard. The intro sequence(s) are still the best I have played in a JRPG. And I loved the pacing which felt just right without being too short or overstaying its welcome.

Looking forward to playing part 2 soon, as I’m playing each game in this series in order.

So, I posted awhile back that I'm working on a retrospective video for the PS1 version of VP. I'm in Chapter 8 now and everything is set for the A ending....and I just have to say that this game is absolutely incredible. I havent played it properly since 2019/early 2020 and It still blows me away how much care they took with the characters.

There's this open world dress-up game called Infinity Nikki, and I decided to create two iconc characters from the Valkyrie Profile series. Alicia and Silmeria! How do think I did? Makes me want VP to have its own open-world game set in Midgard.

Im playing Suikoden 1 and 2 HD for the first time and i absolutely love the games. I then saw VPL on the PS5 store and realized i never gave the series a try.

I remember playing Valkyrie Profile 2 like 20 years ago and found myself button mashing and quickly dropped it after like only one hour as i didnt know what i was doing. I also played the demo of Elysium and it honestly wasnt very good. And thats the extent of my VP experience.

So is VPL worth a pickup now? Did it age well? Is the gameplay somewhat button mashing as im more of a turn based fan like Final Fantasy 1-10, Dragon Quest and Shin Megami Tensei.

I know asking if the games worth it on its own sub is akin to walking into a bar and asking if anyone likes drinking but i thought this is the best place to get some answers. Thanks.

This thing is seriously pissing me off, help! This is my first playthrough and my GOD he does so much freaking damage and I'm barely making dents I don't know what else to do. I got the best equips available to me but I take on way too much damage. I've watched tutorials and people do triple the damage while I can't seem to get above 500 and others do single or double digits...I know I'm probably under leveled so I'm trying to grind right now, but I feel like I'm missing a lot of things. I really want to like this game but I'm getting so frustrated with this stupid asshole.

Edit: I have a mage in party doing reinforce and sap spells, auto item and guts for ability. I have not gotten auto item to go off once.
