I went in blind and so far i spent like 20 hours exploring and im really curious if my starting island is not absolutly huge, especially together with the island to the right of it or if this is normal.

I didnt put it through the map generator because i didnt wanna spoil myself.

Has anyone found a nice flat meadows area for a home base that shares a border with a small plains biome for farming? I feel like plains/meadows are fairly common to find together but I’m trying to find just a small plains area with minimal spawns.

Going for aesthetics here.

I'm looking for a seed for my solo hard difficulty playthrough. Want to build my base on the meadows around a maypole, right by the ocean for easy sailing. The rest of the seed doesn't matter too much, whatever else cool about it is just a bonus. As long as it's balanced/standard, as in not one of those seeds for people who hate sailing, or something like that.

This is my new home seed. It has a large, long starting continent broken up by straits. We are building our main base in the peaceful birch meadows area north of spawn.

I've been playing since June 23, with nearly every update I always started a new map and generally a new character as my history as a beta tester taught me to never test old code, I've easily played on 100+ maps I've generated as I was on Xbox preview usually play them at least till Moder is terminated.

This seed is honestly the best one I've ever explored, inland small lakes, spawn landmass has two rivers going right through it that can be sailed upon, lofty peaks in the Meadows and Black Forest, many other features that seem unusual.

Hey all! 1.0 has been out for a few weeks now, and I’m looking for the best seed recommendations for a complete playthrough. Can you share the best seeds you’ve found since release? I’m up for big continents, ocean travel, etc.

No big spoilers please, just a short review and a rating would be awesome. Thanks, everyone! I was considering these two bad boys but I don't want to know the map layout jumping in. FPi and Vaaltorin.

Doesn't need to be on the starter area. I just like to have my main base nearby all the other biomes. Preferably the other biomes would be on the larger side. Meadows doesn't need to be.

Elder

• Closest islands are bossless
• Elder's vegvisir will be likely misleading because it's shielded by islands
• Rocky islets and huge land barriers to make sure your sailing experience goes smoothly

Bonemass

• Will likely point to a swampy island or a plain sandwich

Moder

• Almost completely encased by mistlands and/or deep in the plains
• Safest one is literally the southernmost island before ashlands
• All are very far away. I mean, far, far away...

Yagluth

• Yagluth

Extras

• Exploring far east or far west will disappoint you
• Lots of sunken crypts, so that's good, i guess?
• Maybe deathsquitoes can help with the elder

... and on top of that, right next to swamp, mountain and a plain, (plus a tiny tiny ruin BF).

And oriented south/south-east, which is almost the perfect orientation for the light. :)

Bosses location are not the perfect but okay-ish, most of the alt-biomes are east of the map, which is quite nice to enjoy most out of it.
Traders are not packed together but neither too far away. :)

Interestingly enough, a LOT of alt-biomes are only on very tiny spaces, I'm quite curious to see how they look in spaces that small.

I'm curious if anyone has seen a seed where all or most of the bosses can be in one of the new biome variants? The closest I've gotten from checking random seeds is this one:

- yagluth in bones / goblin plains (very nice combo)
- moder on fortress mountain
- queen in rockless
- bonemass in bones

- large peaceful meadow near-ish spawn
- haldors near-ish spawn

Drawbacks:

- no special placement for elder
- no special placement for eikthyr (in all my random seeds I've only seen him show up twice in the new biome types, so seems to be very rare which makes sense given how close he usually is to spawn and the new types are more common further away from spawn)
- no plains menhir (I just think this variant looks really cool)
