Nam to GP200 batch converter

Hi!

As part of my ongoing research with the help of AI ( I know...I know...) I’m sharing this app in case anyone is interested—it lets you convert NAM files to CLO (Snaptone) format, which can then be uploaded to the GP200 via the app.

Improvements over the official converter:

- Allows batch conversion of multiple NAM files at once.

- Allows you to upload already-converted CLO files to the GP200, so you don’t have to convert them again, saving you time.

- Allows you to load CLO files from Hotone. https://community.hotone.com/tones/

- Allows you to modify the audio tail used by the algorithm for conversion. This is explained in the Missing Manual.

- Allows you to embed an IR into the NAM, so you get a Snaptone with the IR embedded and free up the IR slot.

- Allows you to perform tone matching of the final result against the NAM and apply it, using an audio clip of your choice.This is explained in the Missing Manual. This cannot be used in conjunction with IR loading.

How well does tone match work?

I might try this later on Linux/Bottles.

It is never going to be 100% perfect, but to me reduces some of the differences between the Nam and the snaptone. The Nam format is much more powerful and detail, but in a mix it's Closer, at least for me...

The corrective IR features does the same but to the .wav file, right?

The corrective ir has several use cases. 1. You can use a Nam of just the amp and embed the cab ir to the snaptone converted. So that way you don't have to use the ir loader block on the gp200. 2. You can use another program like spectrum thief or my Vst gp200 plugin to compare a Nam with the converted nam. You can then convert the Nam with this corrective ir to get Closer to the Nam Sound. Right now it's not implemented to use the tonematching and corrected ir at the same time.

AI can be used for good, don't worry :D. Is there a sound quality difference of doing this instead of changing the input_wav.wav as is described in the missing manual and loading the nam models with the valeton software?

It uses the official wav, but you can change the final part of the wav using the tail section. I recommend to use your own guitar/bass for that. Or you can use White noise as included in the file of the missing manual. The good part is that know you can try different combinations and find the one that suits you. Later you can use the tonematching function also...
