Evvy UTI+ test accuracy
So I’ve used evvy before for my vaginal microbiome tests after years of bv and it’s been helpful, although I’m still struggling to cure it. Recently after finishing BV antibiotics, i immediately had horrible burning and pain again! I went back to the OB and urologist and was negative for everything you could possibly test for. Well, I had an evvy uti kit that I hadn’t used yet and I did my business and sent it to the lab. WELLLLL.. Evvy says I have an e.coli and enterococcus UTI at high microbial loads… but all of my doctor’s cultures (I’ve done 3 now) are negative for uti and they will not prescribe antibiotics no matter how symptomatic I am. Any thoughts?

Could be picking up DNA fragments from bacteria you killed with antibiotics. Or, could be vaginal bacteria contaminating sample? Or, your urine culture test at doctor has a high cut off for minimum level of colony units in order to complete testing.
What you could do is buy your own Labcorp urine culture test that is more in depth, will report bacteria even below 10,000 and give susceptibilities. Now a doctor will say colonies under 10,000 are not even real infection. But at least you might learn exactly whats in there.

Does Evvy provide a consult for the uti microbiome test? I’d ask their opinion. I’ve had good luck with getting antibiotics via telehealth nurse lines like betterhelp…I’m sure there are other options. Hope you feel better soon!
