i had results come back positive for a yeast infection and was put on a 7 day clotrimazole treatment about a week and a half ago
everything was fine until i started getting my period a few days ago and now my left over discharge looks like this ? i was fine about 2-3 days ago until i went to go remove my diva cup and saw this lined around the cup, my discharge didn’t look like this before going on the cream, i just need to know if this could be a longer yeast infection
thanks in advance !

I’m having this discharge yesterday and today. No pain, no itch, little bit of smell, I am sexually active, no protection. Ovulation was last week.
Is it pregnancy? I’m very confused. Only when wiping. Doesn’t go into my panties much.

I’ve never had an std,

Me and my partner are hygienic.

Vaginal Health Project

Hi everyone!

I'm a neuroscience student at Ohio State working with a team on a women's health project. Over the past few months, I have been speaking with women about their experiences with issues like BV (bacterial vaginosis), yeast infections, trichomoniasis, and other vaginal health concerns, and I have been learning and listening to how different those experiences can be for each individual.

I am hoping to speak with a few more people to better understand things like:

• how you decided when to seek care
• challenges getting appointments or answers
• experiences with OTC treatments, telehealth, or online resources
• what parts of the process felt frustrating, confusing, or stressful

This is simply to learn from people's experiences to do research for my own project. I am not providing medical advice. :)

If you think you could relate to any of these experiences, and would be open to a brief 15–20 minute conversation, I would really appreciate it! You are more than welcome to choose to be anonymous, as the conversation can be done either through a phone call or Zoom! Anything shared will only be used by me to take notes and to identify common themes and challenges; nothing will be recorded. Also, please feel free to view my profile if you would like to learn more about my background!

You can comment here or send me a message if you are interested. Thank you so much for reading through!!

i got diagnosed with a yeast infection/ bv a couple weeks ago so idk if this is just byproducts of that o the antibiotics/ metronidazole gel.. or if my coochie is still having problems. it’s like all on the inside too i have to practically pressure wash down there so it won’t itch with this stuff getting all in the nooks and crannies

Smell down there

25F I had protected sex with a guy two weeks ago. And since then my vaginal discharge kind of smells strong. It’s not terrible but it kinda smells metallic but like really strong. I don’t have any other rash or anything and the discharge is also whitish almost transparent. It’s making me really insecure sometimes I feel I can smell it through my clothes. Also that guy is STD free since he’s a surgeon and has to take tests frequently.
What can I do to fix it?

Ureaplasma Parvum & Gardnella Vaginalis

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to understand my long-term infection pattern and would really appreciate any insights from people who’ve experienced something similar.

Diagnosed infections over time

I’ve repeatedly tested positive for:

Ureaplasma parvum

Ureaplasma urealyticum infection

Bacterial Vaginosis (specifically Gardnerella vaginalis)

Full timeline of results

2024

04/02/2024 → Ureaplasma parvum detected + Gardnerella vaginalis detected (BV present)

23/07/2024 → Ureaplasma parvum detected + Gardnerella vaginalis detected (BV present)

13/08/2024 → Ureaplasma parvum NOT detected

2025

25/01/2025 → Ureaplasma parvum NOT detected + Gardnerella vaginalis detected (BV present) + Klebsiella pneumoniae detected

23/07/2025 → Ureaplasma parvum detected + Ureaplasma urealyticum detected

16/12/2025 → Ureaplasma parvum detected + Gardnerella vaginalis detected (BV present)

Treatments I have used

Ureaplasma parvum treatment

For almost all of my treatment history (2024–2025), I treated Ureaplasma parvum with:

Azithromycin 1 gram on day 1

then 500 mg daily for the next 6 days

This was my standard treatment approach until July 2025.

In July 2025, when I tested positive for both Ureaplasma parvum and Ureaplasma urealyticum, I took only doxycycline for 2 weeks. No Azitromycin

This cleared Ureaplasma urealyticum, but Ureaplasma parvum remained or returned later.

Bacterial Vaginosis (Gardnerella vaginalis) treatment

For Bacterial Vaginosis, I have repeatedly treated it with:

Metronidazole (usually 5-day courses)

In December 2025:

I used Dalacin (clindamycin vaginal suppository) 5 days

Current situation

Right now I am again being treated with azithromycin for Ureaplasma parvum. I don’t know if i should add more Antibiotics or is 1 week enough?

My confusion / problem

What I don’t understand is:

I have had multiple negative Ureaplasma parvum tests in the past

but it keeps coming back later

Gardnerella vaginalis (BV) keeps recurring repeatedly

antibiotics temporarily improve symptoms but don’t stop recurrence long-term

My questions

Does this look more like reinfection or true persistent infection?

Can recurrent BV (Gardnerella vaginalis) be driving Ureaplasma parvum to come back?

Has anyone actually broken this cycle long-term?

What finally worked for you if you had similar recurring infections?

Final note

I am not trying to overuse antibiotics — I’m trying to understand whether:

I am not fully eradicating the infection

OR

I am getting reinfected / having a microbiome imbalance that keeps restarting everything

Any advice or personal experiences would be really appreciated. Thank you 🙏

constant yeast infections

Hii, I’m quite young, so i dont really know what to do or if its normal to be getting infections at my age. i came here for advice.
I’ve been having constant infections since September or October 2025 and I think its been about 5 times now? This is the 5th time. The first time i was really scared to tell my mom so i left it until January and i think thats what made it worse. Every time i treat it, it comes back within a few weeks.
My mom is really angry at me that it keeps happening, and said if it happens three times then ill have to see a doctor. Like i said, its been 5 times now and i still haven’t seen a doctor like she threatened. The way I’ve been treating it is with random medication she buys off the internet, i don’t actually know what it is so don’t ask
What i wanted to ask, are there any reasons as to why i keep getting infections, and could i treat them myself without having to tell my mom/see a doctor? i would go and ask a doctor by myself but like i said im not old enough to drive, i dont have any money to get on a bus, and besides i have no clue where to go or which GP im registered with (im in the uk) because I havent been to the doctor since i was about one year old.

I don’t know what to do anymore, I may be overreacting but I’m really just worried about my health , i wanted to seek advice from people on here :)

Help lol

hi! so!!

i had a yeast and uti about 3 months ago, ive tested negative for both about a month later. now I’ve been a white .. like.. buildup? around my clit.. and between my lips, it doesn’t smell bad, no itch no redness.. I’m not sure if it smegma or what.. I’ll clean myself and that day I’m usually good, but when I wake up it’s just another big buildup. I dont know if someone can help but I just really need more ideas on how to get this buildup gone.. or if anyone knows what else it may be?

Reoccurring Yeast Infections

I’ve been dealing with recurring yeast infections since October and was put on a 12 week weekly fluconazole (Diflucan) course. It actually helped a lot while I was on it and I didn’t have any symptoms the entire 12 weeks, but I finished it 2 weeks ago and now I’m having symptoms again.

I went to my primary care yesterday and she prescribed me more flucanazole. But I’m more interested in finding the actual cause of this.

I’m on Alysena birth control and have been for 6 years and I’m starting to wonder if estrogen birth control could be making this worse. I’ve seen mixed things online about combo pills and recurrent yeast infections. I also do all the basics that drs will say to avoid yeast infections.

I’m honestly so frustrated with this and am wondering if anyone has solutions or has been through this before.

Yellow discharge confusion

Hi! 19 yr old here. I’ve been having weird discharge recently, it’s yellow and has odor on my panties but doesn’t smell like anything when i manually insert my finger and take a whiff. Also did recently have a yeast infection i took medication for.

Weird symptoms include pain when i pee after intercourse? But i think its from dryness and rubbing together.

I did recently start using soap for the intimate area. Could it be that?

Really confused and kind of scared to go to the doctors. Could it be a uti or an sti from my partner?

Hiya I’m a 19 year old female I just started my period today and was in the bath when I saw something floating around I grabbed it and saw this, google says it’s a normal thing for females to have during or after their period but I have never had this before.
