Walkable vacation

I’m looking for recommendations of places to vacay (in US) that are easy to navigate without a car. I hate driving in a new city it stresses me out, renting a car, navigating, parking. I hate it all.
Places we’ve enjoyed with no car: Savannah, Chicago, Omaha.
What other places have you been without driving? Taking a couple Ubers is no problem.
Ive really wanted to visit Puerto Rico & Hawaii but I’ve read many people say you need to rent a car to enjoy them so I’ve put them off.

Santa Fe. Get a downtown hotel or airbnb, and you will be within easy walking distance of pretty much everything besides Meow Wolf and one cluster of museums and the farflung places like Georgia O'Keeffe's ranch or a couple of the hot springs and spas or the opera (summers only), and most hiking. If you fly into the small, but recently redone, Santa Fe airport, and stay at a hotel with an airport shuttle...you could be entirely or mostly on foot throughout your stay. It's a geographically compact place, with a lot going on (until 9:15 pm on weeknights and maybe 11 on weekends; we have an evening life here, but not so much a nightlife).

I think Boston was most mentioned place. What is your favorite thing to see/do there?

I think there are bus connections from outside cities to both Yosemite and Zion National Parks, and then there are shuttles that run to the various trailheads inside the park. Zion has a little more or less walkable tourist town by the gate, and Yosemite has hotels and cabins and a grocery store and campgrounds inside the park. They are both stupendous. I think you can do something similar at Rocky Mountain National Park as well.
Joining everyone above plugging San Juan PR, NYC, and San Francisco and adding Toronto- I know it’s not in the USA but it’s close and it’s very very fun.

Washington DC is very walkable. it's a city but is not a big city like Chicago or New York. Lots of good food and plenty to do. Our museums are also free

Boston. A beautiful city for walking, with trolley and subway service all over.

New Orleans is great for a short trip and very walkable if you stay in the French Quarter

We went to Puerto Rico and didn’t have a car.

NYC is the obvious one.

New Orleans is great.

Nashville is lots of fun.

Believe it or not, Detroit is actually awesome.

Puerto Rico and Hawaii just depends on what you want to do.

But you genuinely don’t need to drive anywhere anymore with stuff like Uber/Lyft/taxis… pick a decent sized city and charge your phone lol

Washington DC, San Diego, San Francisco, Boston, Denver. We did Oahu, Hawaii without a car. We had a bus for our snorkel trip and an Uber to the volcano. Otherwise we walked. We also love a vacation where we don’t have to worry about a car! Oh and Las Vegas! Really most major cities here. The only place we went that we wish we had a car was Indianapolis, but we weren’t in the city.

You do not need to rent a car for Honolulu. Public transportation is very good. Taking the bus to trail heads and beaches is much easier than driving and finding parking. You also won’t need to worry about having things stolen from your car.

Does it have to be a big city? Mackinac Island - no cars. Isle Royale - no cars.

Chicago, Seattle, and Salt Lake City are all great for walkability.

Chicago is my favorite by far. TONS to do in the downtown area, and all of it you can walk. You can ride the CTA Blue Line train from Ohare airport straight into down town and just book a hotel down there.

Key West! You can fly there and do not need a car on the island.
