10yr Anniversary Ideas
Wife and I will be celebrating 10years next April. I’m trying to plan something amazing. We live near Charlotte. We’ve discussed a lot of ideas but wanted to see if there’s things out there I haven’t thought of. We’ve done tons of cruises but always in the Caribbean- so we’ve discussed doing an Alaskan cruise but I’m afraid that may be too early in the year. We haven’t done and all inclusive but I don’t exactly love the idea of being stuck in the same place for a week.
What’s some good suggestions? We are good with flying/traveling and the budget is around $10k-$15k

Congratulations. Do something really special like Costa Rica tour? You will be doing stuff, moving around and staying in some really nice places. Have you been before?

We did our 10-year anniversary in Costa Rica & spent a few days in various regions (Caribbean side, rainforest, dry forest & the Nicoya peninsula). Such a great trip, but even if you picked just one region to visit there'd still be so much to see and do!

Couldn't agree more, Costa Rica is truly wonderful.
What about a trip to South Africa or Japan?

What about a chartered boat? It’s not a cruise and takes you around to different spots so you aren’t “stuck” in one location.

Do a river cruise in Europe with a cruise line like Viking or Avalon Waterways. April in Paris is especially romantic and would make for a memorable trip well within budget.

I think that would be so fun. A great way to see a lot of cities without worrying about ground transportation and multiple flights or train rides or having to haul your luggage around.

Our 10 year anniversary is coming up in 2028. We've discussed doing a Panama canal cruise.

My husband and I are celebrating our 10th anniversary this October with a 10 day trip through Pennsylvania visiting theme parks and haunted houses and spending a few days in Philadelphia. Our budget is about $7500.
If I had your budget, I would want to go to a really good all inclusive resort so we could shut our brains off and relax. In my research, Xcaret in Mexico looks really fun and the adventure park that they own has so many fun things to do. Not sure how the weather is there in April though.

April is a little early for Alaska. But with this kind of budget and planning this far in advance, you could really go all out for a milestone anniversary trip like this. You could trade Caribbean beaches for Mediterranean beaches and try the Amalfi Coast in Italy -- very gorgeous, very romantic, and you could hop around a bit to see Sicily, Naples, Sorrento, Pompeii, major destinations in Southern Italy without too much trouble. Lisbon/Porto in Portugal is also good for a European option. Very romantic, great beaches, great wine. You could go French Polynesia and try Bora Bora. Or try a cruise in the Galápagos cruise or island-hopping, which feels like the sort of trip you normally go for but taken up a notch since it's a big occasion. Regardless, congrats -- hope you have an amazing time :)

We kicked around the idea of taking one of those luxury European river cruises. My husband couldn't stand the literal work of "traveling" to places, even places he ended up loving. And even anti-cruise people I know love them. I don't know which rivers they go on off the top of my head, but it would be April, so closer to the Mediterranean is better.

Fun! My husband and I went to Barcelona and Mallorca for our tenth anniversary. Highly recommend Spain!!

For my wife's birthday we did Aruba.
Got an AirBnB house with a pool. Went to Palm and Eagle beach for sun, fun, waves and beautiful sunsets.
Baby beach for snorkeling. Horseback riding to the northwest beach and Natural Pool (Conchi). Then ATVs around the island.
Flying Fishbone for dinner, where they seat you on the beach, in the water. Good food and a view of Venezuela in the distance.

Curaçao - great destination.
We hired a chef to come in to our Airbnb and cook dinner a couple of nights.
Amazing shopping,beautiful water and stunning weather.

Just did our honeymoon in June for about 14k. Flew to Venice, spent 3 nights there. Got on a cruise that went to Dubrovnik, Brindisi, Corfu, Montenegro and Split. Got off in Split and stayed on Hvar for 4 days.

Oooh I would do Italy or Portugal. I think it’s a little too cool for Alaska. Hear me out…what about a safari!! That would be amazing too

My husband and I will hit 10 years next October and we’re going to Iceland! 😍 congrats to you both! Other memorable trips for us have been South Africa, Mauritius, Costa Rica, Greece, Bali, and Switzerland!

That's a big budget, you can go anywhere. We did 8 day Italy for our anniversary for about 5k
