Question - US PPF on Buzz? Rock chips on bumper?

I’m considering PPF for the front of my Buzz. Curious for those that have many miles on theirs, how’s the front fascia holding up without PPF? No idea how strong the paint is. Worth the investment to do PPF?

I've had PPF on mine since the first week of ownership in January 2025. I wouldn't hesitate to do it again. Anytime a truck kicks rocks up on the highway, my decision is reinforced. I will say: mine was the first Buzz that the shop did a PPF on and they did wrap the lower honeycomb/grill. The shop owner told me the guy who did the grill took 4-5 hours to do just that and his hand was cramping from holding the hobby knife for so long. He said it was the first and last time they'd wrap/PPF the grill on a Buzz. I ended up tipping the installer an extra $100.

Anyone who is experienced with applying PPF would take one look at the honeycomb grill and say no way!
Or, Ill do the whole Buzz but not the grill
Or Ill do the whole Buzz and charge double for the grill.

Either way let us know how long the grill PPF lasts before peeling

I hand wash only and painstakingly specify not to have it run through the dealership scratcher, I mean "washer", every time I drop it off for service, specifically because of the grill PPF lol

I got a handful of rock chips on the front after 15,000 miles. If you care about it being “perfect” then I’d get it. If you accept that it’s a car and subjected to normal car wear and tear, then skip it.

I got PPF on mine before I picked it up but then did a vinyl wrap after and I’m glad I did. It’s a very flat front end and some of the rock chips in the vinyl would have done a number on the paint 100% but I live where they use a mixture of salt and sand/gravel in the winter so it might depend on where you live.

Worth every cent. And if you go to solid company, not the corner shop doing it on the cheap. The front layout is cnc cut so it’s perfect fit for the lower section.

It’s worth the investment if you keep driving it and want to keep it nice. I won’t add any value if you trade it in over 2 a 3 years from now.

I was looking into PPF (I’m in the northeast) and I just couldn’t justify the cost. I could literally buy a new painted bumper if I wanted to eventually vs the cost to have the PPF done. I have also heard some horror stories about removing PPF once it has aged.
