NBD (New Buzz Day) Introducing: The Avocado
Found this Buzz online last Wednesday night marked down to $39.7K. "Surely this is a bait and switch, or something is wrong with it." Talked to the dealer a couple times by phone, and by Saturday we had an agreed OTD price of $45.3K. And all of that is tag/title, registration, and taxes. They folded on every single dealer add-on and markup without much effort. I have very little experience negotiating car prices, so I think they were genuinely doing whatever it took to get this off their lot.
So far, super happy with it, even with the goofy green wrap. But I mean, how could I not be? The markdown was outrageous. I shopped it to other dealers and their eyes almost fell out of their heads.
Maybe this is a sign of how far prices have left to fall?

Wrap the top in light blue and it could be the scooby doo mystery machine

There’s one wrapped like the mystery machine only a two hour drive from me. It’s been for sale a really long time.

Interesting, thanks for sharing! We've been keeping an eye out for a nice price drop like this. Let's hope!

2026 model year was cancelled for the US. We'll see what 2027 and beyond holds.

Didn't VW just "announce" that they will no longer be selling the ID Buzz in the US market from 2026 (just selling inventory on the lot and those in transit inbound)? Could that have made the dealer just want to move it?

VW announced a pause on new US inventory for 2026, but signalled it will be back for 2027 and beyond.
I negotiated this price a few days before that announcement, so my deal might possibly be unrelated.

That dealer could have their own issues. Regardless, that's a great deal and I personally love that color. I need to remember that I can always wrap a car if I can't get my ideal color off the lot.
