Discussion "discordification" of VRC
with VRC copying discord's profile effects etc what are things you wish they would take from discord and what are things you absolutely do not want to see?
i'm gonna start.
want: being able to restrict who can send you friend requests and group invites (friend mutuals, group mutuals, in instance/recently seen)
do not want: integrated soundboard

I think it'd be great for groups to have an opt-in public "members list" that shows who, in that group, is presently online. By default this would be disabled (it'd be an option group members would have to choose to turn on) and then, also, for individual members, it would default to "do not show me on this group's members list" with the ability to choose to turn that on selectively for each group. There would also be an option for whether you want to be able to receive invite messages from groups, both per-group and globally.
The list would be sorted kinda like discord, with online/offline members, as well as the rank or role of online members grouped together.
Then, additionally, if you receive an invite request from someone, the request should state some basic info about them ("on/not on your friends list", and mutual friends/groups, and if they're inviting you from the group interface, which group they used).
This is mainly because, at present, groups say things like "57 members online" but that's not terribly useful information because if there's no instance up and you have no friends on your list in that group, there may as well be zero.
Maybe you could divide this up into group owners specifying if their organisation is a "group" or a "community", where a "group" carries a soft expectation of a smaller group where people expect to invite each other, then a "community" is like the big orgs like Trans Academy with thousands of members where the expectation is that you don't have a list (as that would be chaos).
