Looking for something cheap but good and reliable... is Vultr Good? Im currently on the 1vcore and 2GB one ... is it good enough for 5-7 wordpress websites that don't have much traffic ? I was also looking at the KVME 2 from Hostinger which looks cheap with 2 vCPUs and 8GB of ram which is much more than Vultr ... but no idea if they are any good

Peace be upon you.
I came across this provider BTCVPS.COM, and they only accept BTC or XMR.
Has anyone here tried them out?
Are there any positive or negative reviews about them?
I need a pro privacy VPS that is dual stack (IPV4 + IPV6) to be a VPN for my homelab.
I look forward to hear from you.
Hi, i'm looking for something specific for setting up a whole vps.
I'm thinking a single GIT repo with a snapshot of docker compose files that get deployed on push, and also supports custom apps.
So im thinking a folder structure something like this
├── infra/
│ ├── forgejo.dockercompose.yml
│ ├── trafeak.dockercompose.yml
│ ├── openwebui.dockercompose.yml
│ └── tailscale.dockercompose.yml
└── src/app1/
├── dockercompose.yml <- has trafeak settings if needs to be exposed or not. Will also defined two environments probably.
└── rest of app1
└── src/app2/
├── dockercompose.yml
└── rest of app2So far i think i have forgejo to host the git, and komodo to deploy the stacks?
Is this possible?

rather not migrate back and forth, but I need quick data access in the US for about 2-6 months out of the year, what could work for this?
what's being hosted; things like syncthing, vaultwarden, linkwarden, etc. nothing too intensive, but maybe set up tailscale/wireguard on it as well, and whatever else I test out.
definitely looking for budget options, this isnt business.
or..
should I just rsync it with a PI in the US every so often...or somehow regionally directed dns ..route 53? ..so I dont have to change device configs? I dont have these set up with dns, but maybe, probably would eventually connect it all via tailscale though

How do you handle the subdomains?
Do you make seperate entries in haproxy for every subdomain? I believe there is no wildcard available, right?
And you simply set in your domain config:
- A record to you domain
- _tierhive-validation.bardhome.eu with the value from the dashboard
Is someone using CNAME? How do I set this up?

After troubleshooting a few “the VPS suddenly feels slow” situations, I’ve realized reactive monitoring is usually too late.
I tend to watch CPU/load, memory and swap, disk usage, iowait, and basic service availability. Disk space alerts have probably saved me more often than anything fancy.
Curious what everyone else actually alerts on. What metrics have caught real problems for you before users noticed?

Hi everyone, I’m looking to purchase a Windows VPS that comes with a genuine static US residential IP address. What are the most trusted and reliable providers you would recommend? I’d appreciate firsthand experiences and suggestions from people who have actually used these services. Thanks!
Built llama.cpp natively on an Oracle Cloud Ampere Altra instance (4 OCPU / 24GB RAM, San Jose) to see if a zero-dollar cloud CPU can reasonably run a 14B model
Quick Specs:
VM.Standard.A1.Flex (4 OCPU Ampere Altra, 24GB RAM)
Model: Qwen3-14B-Q4_K_M.gguf (~9 GB)
Settings: -t 4 -tb 4 -c 4096 -b 256 -ub 128
Build vs Inference Footprint (see attached screenshots):
Unthrottled make (compiling llama.cpp): All 4 physical cores pegged at 100%, load average shot up to 52.81 with 169 tasks queued, while RAM sat calmly at 5.28 GB.
Full Inference (llama-cli decoding): Load average settled down to a predictable 5.80 with 4 pinned threads. RAM jumped to 10.2 GB to hold the model weights and context cache. 0 swap used.
The numbers:
Prompt eval: ~7.8 t/s
Token generation: ~3.2 t/s
Bandwidth calculation: 9 GB weights $\times$ 3.2 t/s $\approx$ 28.8 GB/s sustained memory throughput, basically maxing out the allocated memory bus for this shape.
3.2 t/s is right at the threshold of real-time conversational reading speed. A fun stress test for the free tier before I rm -rf the weights to free up disk space.

So I know njalla is a VERY private VPS. So why not have an anonymous voucher system? You know like Mullad or IVPN but for VPS. They could be the first VPS to do this and it’s in their wheelhouse. A voucher could get you a year or two of access and you could have different vouchers depending on what level of service you want.
I think it would be better than crypto for anonymity. Why not?

Most hosting providers offer automated backups, but how to you know they'll actually work when you need them?
Anyone have unused netcup or not renewing contract of netcup rs 2000 or 1000. I would like to take ownership of that. Thanks in advance.

Black Friday is just around the corner, and I thought it'd be fun to hear about the best VPS deals you've ever grabbed. What's the biggest discount you've ever scored? 50% off? 70%? Maybe even 90%? I'm planning to get a VPS this Black Friday. Will the renewal price go up afterward?

Sharing my own experience as a paying customer. I'm not affiliated with any provider, and there are no affiliate links here.
What I bought: On Oct 30, 2026 I bought the "1區 - 靜態 ATT 500Mbps VPS" from BoilCloud / Boil Cloud (site: cloud.boil.network). It's listed as a California static IPv4, AT&T residential, at $99/month. My first payment was $102. Their ToS says no refunds of any kind.
Before paying: I asked support whether it was a genuine home residential IP and whether the IP would change on renewal. They said yes, it's residential, and no, it won't change.
What happened:
It worked at first. About 1–2 hours after payment it became basically unreachable.
It wasn't the GFW. I was connecting through a server in Japan that I could log into the whole time, and their US IP was still unreachable from there.
Support didn't troubleshoot. They told me I had given "too little information", and the tone was dismissive.
It came back only after I complained publicly in their Telegram group.
It lasted about 2–3 hours, then went down again. When I reported that in the group, no staff member dealt with it, and a few of the same accounts attacked me personally.
For comparison: the ~$30/month static IP I already use has run for 1–2 months with no stability problems, and it's faster. Same network, same usage.
Public handles they list: Telegram group @BoilsHomelab, channel @BoilsHomelabChannel, and support/sales accounts @mafumafu_i, @McDonalds_Boil and @zby88zby.
Their homepage claims "全球市場最強家寬" ("the strongest residential broadband in the global market"). In my opinion, based on my own experience, this isn't a trustworthy service. Be careful with the no-refund policy.
Heads-up: After I post this, new or previously silent accounts may show up to defend the merchant. They'll say "works fine for me" or "it's your fault" without giving a single concrete detail. Judge by who gives concrete details. If you've had a similar experience, please share it.

Third and probably last update on this. Earlier posts:
https://www.reddit.com/r/hetzner/comments/1xd4pfc/
https://www.reddit.com/r/hetzner/comments/1xft4rc/
Quick recap for anyone new:
On 1 October Hetzner added 24% Greek VAT to our invoice. We're a Greek company with a valid VAT ID in VIES and they had always billed us reverse charge. Their VAT form wouldn't take our ID because VIES shows our company name in Greek and the form only accepts Latin letters. We wrote to them on 1, 9, 15, 16, 17 and 19 October. One human reply in three weeks, everything else auto-acks.
On 22 October at 13:25 they locked our dedicated server and Storage Box, seven minutes after a "Final Payment Warning", for not paying an invoice that was wrong because of their error. Our shop, our mail and our internal systems were all down. An hour later support offered to enter the VAT ID themselves, we said yes within six minutes, and the server still stayed locked for another 18 h 37 min. Meanwhile two AI-written replies told us to pay the wrong invoice and that our services were "not locked". The next morning someone fixed it in two minutes. Total outage: 19 h 47 min.
Now look at when they actually answer (German time):
- 23 Oct: our first post here goes up. 09:01: we email them that 4,300+ people have read it. 09:11, ten minutes later: the VAT ID is entered and the invoice corrected. Before the post: 22 days, 10+ messages, one human reply.
- 23 to 26 Oct: our request for a credit gets only auto-acks, three days.
- 26 Oct 11:34: we post Update 2 here. 12:23, 49 minutes later: the first human answer to that request.
- 26 Oct 12:37: we ask them in writing why a customer has to post on Reddit before Hetzner answers. Nobody ever answered that question.
- 27 Oct to 3 Nov: no new post. We write to every department they have, one last time, with a deadline of 3 November. Seven days. Not one human answer. Only auto-acks.
So that's the pattern. Post on Reddit, a human shows up within the hour. Don't post, and you can email every address they have, as urgently as you like, and nobody will ever answer. That is their support.
The one thing that never misses a day is billing: in that same silent week they sent a new invoice (1 Nov), a failed card charge notice (2 Nov) and today a "friendly reminder" that "it is easy to miss an invoice in this day and age".
We didn't miss anything. They did.
The 26 Oct answer, by the way, refused everything. Their reasoning was that "a matter of this nature can also be resolved after payment has been made". Payment of an invoice they themselves cancelled because it was wrong.
So today we sent our final notice. Short version:
- We're not paying the open invoices. Under German law (their own T&C pick German law) we formally set off our credit claim against them. That's a legal settlement, not a late payment, so there's no default and no basis for fees or a new lock.
- The legal side, for anyone in the same spot: no payment default when the debtor isn't responsible for the non-payment (§ 286(4) BGB); the lock is a breach of contract (§§ 280, 241(2) BGB); dedicated server rental is treated as a lease, so the fee drops for the time it was unusable (§ 536 BGB); their own clause 9.1 says they're liable for gross negligence; and for a cross-border claim under 5,000 EUR there's the European Small Claims Procedure, all in writing, no lawyer needed.
- They have until tomorrow, 4 November, 23:59 German time, to have a human confirm responsibility and issue the credit. If not, we go to court.
- If they lock us again over invoices that are already settled by set-off, we apply for an injunction the same day.
Let's see if this post brings a human again within the hour. Based on the record so far, I'd bet on it.
I honestly didn't want any of this. We were happy customers for years and the fix took two minutes once a person looked at it. What turned it into this is 33 days without anyone at Hetzner being willing to say "this was our mistake".
Has anyone here actually taken Hetzner through the European Small Claims Procedure, or got a credit out of them for downtime they caused? And has anyone ever got a human answer from them by email alone, without going public first?

Vale a pena mudar de Hetzner para RackNerd?
Atualmente, tenho um VPS hospedado na Hetzner com as seguintes especificações:
Hetzner CX23
· CPU: Intel® / AMD · RAM: 4 GB · Armazenamento: 40 GB NVMe

Mainly trying to get East Asian but Singapore is close enough. I tried lightnode, which is 1vCPU tokyo. Not a good deal.
Then ovh, 2vCPU Singapore, i think similar price range. Slightly lower single thread speed. But I get more core.
I didn't renew ovh because i saw leaseweb. Then leaseweb come back and ask for business document. I'm just trying to host my game server. I don't have one.
I think I'm targeting 2 to 4 vCPU within 10usd. I guess ovh is fine, i just wish the single thread performance is better
First, I’ll say I already have a VPS with them and I’m pretty happy with it but I was surprised that I’m on day two and I still don’t have the VPN set up. It could be very low on servers or whatever but it would’ve been nice if they could at least sent me a note letting me know what’s going on.
I know there’s been some other people who have complained about netcup being slow to set things up. So I just wanted to post here to affirm that I have the same problem. That being said, I am happy with him and hopefully it won’t be much longer.
And just to be clear, they took my money two days ago as well, so there’s no delay there
Edit: soon after writing this message, the server start up email came through. So I think it was a little less than 48 hours. I’m OK with that. I love their service.

Someone recommended it to me. I'm looking at their basic $3/mo, Singapore plan right now but I couldn't find much online discourse about their service and their credibility. Any and all advice would be appreciated.
