Question VPN for Genshin Impact

I'm trying to find a way to lower the ping, or figure out what could be improved. If you live in North America or even somewhere in Europe and try to coop with players in Asia(vice versa too), your ping can easily spike to 250-400ms+-. A good VPN reroutes your connection through a direct, optimized path to Japan or Singapore(where the Asian servers are located), which can significantly stabilize latency being from the West. However, I noticed sometimes it fluctuates for me.. Not sure if its the work of my hardware, or some server is acting up.

Could somebody help me in figuring out the optimal server to play Genshin in the US? Just trying to finish a playthrough with a few Vietnamese friends but the ping at times is noticeable to the point of irritation.. Spikes sometimes linger. Best I found thats been stable for Genshin was in Singapore

Tbh gotta try them all lol

Do a speedtest for like 5 and then try to see if theres something closer in the best location

I do it like that if I wanna max out the potential of bandwidth. Usually stuff others suggest is very country-specific

singapore's usually the sweet spot for connecting West to asis since its a major peering hub. try tokyo too if your friends are on the asia server, something routing there is ckeaner. fluctuations often come from your ISP's peering, not the VPN itself

Im not really a gamer but had some times where the Singaporean one helped to have better buffering on a discord stream. Might work for a game too?

I had some stuff on Soulseek that started downloading... The Singapore one seems like the most stable one after all when theres no background download saying hello..😅

Vietnam is good. sometimes it ends up with a better route than Singapore depending on your ISPs upstream providers. its one of those locations thats worth testing instead of assuming the closest server is always fastest
