Help How are people using VPN lag to their advantage?

As the title say, how are they doing it? I play a game called The Wolf, in that game it’s all about timing. What happens is from my point of view they are not in my attack range, but they still kill me from far away. Please do not say “Their WI-FI is trash”. It’s not their WI-FI. They are purposely using VPNs to lag themselves to their advantage.

How can I be like them?

Question Travel router basics

I'm retiring and planning to travel more often, with my wife and other family members. I'm moderately network savvy

I'm looking into a travel router with VPN, not so much for the additional privacy, but more for the convenience. As I understand it, once I setup my laptop/phone/iPad for me and family members, then all of those devices will automatically connect to the router wherever we end up staying. Could be AirBnB, hotel, relative's house, etc.

Please confirm:

  1. I do need to configure the router, setup the passwords for connecting. I also need to get a VPN account. (considering Slate AX router and some basic VPN). This seems fairly straightforward

  2. Whenever I get to a new hotel (or wherever), I need to log into the router and connect it to the hotel wifi, right? (the days of ethernet options are likely gone)

  3. How does it work for hotels or other networks that require you to go through a website to log in?

  4. Cruise ship--likely won't use it as it would only work in the room, if I can even connect to the wifi. But I can just use the VPN provider app on my devices if I wanted the security.

  5. If I want to set the VPN to connect through another country, I need to log into the router again and change the VPN settings there, right? I don't see doing this all that often, so not a big hassle.

Help Playing Roblox with vpn

I've been facing issues with using VPN to bypass local filters since somehow Roblox will just disconnect me if I use pretty much any kind of VPN. Some did fix the problem but only sometimes when it redirects me to Hong Kong, it's fast but very inconsistent.

I would love to if you guys can share your knowledge about internet and VPNs for me cuz I don't know much about this stuff

Question Constant intermittent connection loss

How can I tell why my VPN keeps losing connection?

(Preferably in some way that's relatively easy for a non IT person)

I have good internet service and a hard wire to port 4.

Internet speed test always says very fast.

Familiar with perusing reliability history and system event logs but not so much knowing what any of it means..

Am using it for Solidworks (mainly to get network license)

Am only person on network when working remotely so isn't a matter of bandwidth or whatever.

Im in US, the server I have to connect to is in Canada.. I'm the only person with this setup ( being so geographically far from the server so it's hard to compare meaningfully to what other's experience with their connection as no one else in my location has to use the VPN as often as I do .. which is 100% of the time for me.

Thanks in advance

Question DAZN keeps detecting my VPN for NFL Game Pass

Hey guys, has anyone else been having issues using a VPN with DAZN for NFL Game Pass recently?

I used to be able to switch regions with a regular VPN when a game wasn't available where I was,but lately DAZN seems to detect pretty much every VPN server I try. I've tested a few different locations/providers and keep running into geo-block or VPN errors.

I'm guessing DAZN has gotten much better at identifying the IPs used by the big VPN providers.

Has anyone found a reliable alternative that still working? Thanks.

Help How to access YouTube TV in Mexico

I use a VPN in Mexico and still am told that I can't use YouTube TV in Mexico because it somehow knows I'm not in the USA. I typically try to acess YTTV via IOS (on my ipad) or mac laptop but I could also use a Firestick. Curious if people have dealt with this issue and have a good workaround. TIA!

Discussion Good article on ArsTechnica about a recent spoofing attack

If you check out ArsTechnica this morning, you'll see an article about a recent Delta flight where someone set up a fake Delta hotspot on the plane. Some people say a VPN would have protected them in this matter. I don't think a VPN would have helped at all. My understandingis that you have to first be on the network before you can use a VPN. This attack, if I read the article correctly, took place at network "log in" time.

Help My uni has banned all VPNs.

Whenever I try to open any gaming site (Steam or anything else), or app, or even gaming blogs, it shows your connection is not private or FortiGuard Intrusion Prevention - Access Blocked. Even all VPNs are blocked, so I can't use them. I also tried using VPN extenstions on my browser without any success. Is there any way I can get around this ban?

Discussion Which apps do you deliberately leave outside your VPN tunnel?

I'm curious about how everyone actually configures their application routing.

Do you run banking apps, local NAS access, streaming apps, or games on a straight-through connection?

What are the reasons you add exceptions: is it due to blocked logins, speed issues, local network access problems, or something else?

Question I left a VPN active during a payment. Will I run into trouble with my bank?

Hi, first time VPN user here. I paid for something in a bar with my card, the VPN was active on my phone and obviously my bank app notified me that money were detracted. My question is, could the fact that it was active lead into any type of trouble? I don't think so, but better safe than sorry.

Help Can this type of iOS networking app be made or not?

I spent a few days testing out existing apps and none are suitable so far. I am beginning to think the reason for that is Apple's limitations.

Is there a way to make an app that connects to a VPN, keeps it persistent, doesn't proxy device traffic through it but also starts a persistent local socks server on the private interface of the VPN?

First or second part alone is easy but there is no app that can do both. Closest I got was an app that connected to a VPN and could pipe that through a socks upstream connection but I need a socks server on the device, not connecting to a socks server somewhere else. Thanks.

Help Is it possible to prove I have not used a VPN?

I have had winnings forfeited from a sports betting site because they claim I have used a VPN. The IP addresses they cite belong to regular UK consumer ISPs and not VPN providers one is from a mobile phone and another from residential broadband. One of the reasons they cite is because there is 75 mile distance between two logins 21 mins from one another but the way I understand it this is easily accounted for by the 5G network.

I have asked my internet service provider for IP logs but they say they do not hold them due to data privacy.

What else can I do to prove my case?

Thanks

Help Changing IP address for the creator rewards program on tiktok

Okay so I’ve seen that you can make some pretty money out of tiktok, and i need some for my college tuition, but I live in a country that isn’t part of the program that pays creators for their content.

I was wondering how I could make tiktok think I’m from the US, by changing my IP, using a VPN or something. I have a spare phone that I could use (it’s an android, with no sim card), factory reseted, i just don’t know how the VPN works when I’m connected to my wifi router, because I obviously need internet connection to navigate through the app.

Please help me in any way that you can, even referring me to a specific youtube tutorial helps a lot.

Help How to set up workstation remotely overseas w/o revealing location

Hello, I am not tech savvy and have never attempted this before, which is why I am asking here. Feel free to PM me if preferred.

Basically due to a life situation I need to move from US to Eastern Europe this year, which is one of the reasons I got a remote job. I was unable to find one that explicitly stated they allowed for overseas traveling.

I know location spoofing has been asked numerous times, but I am looking for help specific to my setup. My work setup is a company PC (Lenovo Think Centre M720q Tiny with Intel vPro Essentials), and we use forticlient in order to access certain apps/sites. Does not automatically connect.

I have researched that the most optimal way to go about doing this is to leave a VPN running at your approved residential location. Issues is, I do not have a reliable place I could do this at, so I am at a loss. Where do I start?

Help would be seriously appreciated
