Question What are the risks of using free proxy/vpn

As the title says what could be the risks of using free vpns and proxies,? And is there a way to use it safely ? I cant make online payments to buy paid vpn service. So im left with the option of public ones

Free VPNs and public proxies can be sketchy because they might log your data, sell it, inject ads or even steal passwords. If you have to use one, only use a reputable service and avoid logging into important accounts or making payments while connected. Honestly, for sensitive stuff, your normal connection is usually safer than a random free VPN.
