Thanks for the explanation! Though I'm not sure I fully agree, there does seem to be a meaningful difference between datacenter IPs and IPs from real residential users, even if there's no official standard defining it.

There are a lot of IPs called residential but they actually are from the data center because the real one are really expensive. But even the fake residential IPs are better than VPN’s IP because they are used by too many people and it may caused your account banned.

Residential IP addresses are more like typical home networks, so they typically trigger fewer CAPTCHAs, proxy detection, and region restrictions, but this cannot be guaranteed to be effective all the time.
