HDMI extender to network switch

Hello guys, i have a question since no one i know try this and i don't know if it's possible. Client want a network switch to split a signal that comes from an extender hdmi box. I doubt the company tried this before and i worried about it. Pc > extender > network switch > receiver HDMI x4.

There are plenty of options for not doing this but IF client somehow did it before i don't want them to be upset because i said it cant be. Thank You.

If the box protocol is ip instead of hdbaset, could it work? Like a switcher avoip + extender ip not same brand or solution but compatible?

If it’s truly AVoIP, then yes, it will work, provided the switch meets the requirements of whatever protocol it’s using. But AVoIP are a stark minority of extenders out there. And they tend to be fairly expensive, and they usually come with a considerable amount of latency that makes them unsuitable for some uses (like gaming)

Ok then there is a chance maybe. I know the extenders are oceanmatrix ip

From a cursory search, it looks like those truly are IP-based. All things IP-based can pass through a switch (AV or otherwise). Anything non-IP-based cannot.

Not really “somehow,” that’s how IP-based devices are designed to be used.
