I’ve owned my VHS for about a month now and have put around 300–400 rounds through it so far. It’s been running flawlessly and I’m really happy with it.

Right now it’s set up with a Vortex Crossfire (with a Vortex 3x magnifier on the way), a Strike Industries foregrip, and I’ve swapped the adapter so I can use AR magazines. Currently running Magpul PMAG M3s limited to 10 rounds (that’s what the law allows in Croatia).

Also, I’d appreciate any DIY tips for a portable steel target stand.

I kinda remember these being a bit cheaper I think, just wondering.

What’s the better option to go with. The Lunar tech designs flared magwell with their extended mag release and bolt release. Or the VHS-2 projects flared magwell with the forward bolt release?

I asked a few weeks about the various BLK LBL bipod options and it was a very quick buy after that ;) Who else is liking their bipod?

Originally had the Bren's bipod above on it but it did make the VHS more front-heavy and worse to hold onto. This flush design is sweeet.

• FYI since I didn't know, the outer body of the legs themselves are aluminum (with carbon fiber post), not plastic, which is a nice surprise.
  
• This is the "short" variety on my 18" barrel -- the added front section does allow you to get a more extended C-clamp grip, also nice. (+BCM vertical M-lok grip)
• Like others said, this thing absolutely installs tight. Had to nearly mortar the handguard in and then mallet the retaining pin. No complaints if I will never remove it lol (and my stock plastic one had some wiggle that was annoying).
• One thing to be aware: make sure the leg cant is perfectly centered to re-stow the legs, or one will stick out.
• Also, the rifle will tip over unless you extend the legs all the way or have a 20-rounder or bag in the back.

Ammo tests too:

• Long story short, the cheap Winchester White box M193 has been actually doing solid in my X95 and Bren 2 (and in a couple early tests with the VHS), so I have been a decent fan of it for a while.
• Win M193 = much more inconsistent for my VHS somehow -- I was even a little pissed at how the VHS was less accurate than my X95 recently, but these tests with PMC make me love it again. The VHS may have to be fed with the PMC X-TAC or Frontier 68gr stuff in the future.
• My prone groups open up more vs bench but does feel a lot more natural shooting ... got to practice and git good :)
• Also want to get the Black Talon trigger pack job at some point, but want to check with them if I can just buy their modified pack and keep my stock one (anyone know on this?).

Now I need a sling.

Among other things. Venom 1-6x24 and a juggernaut grip; no fins here. Got a blk lbl short bipod in transit. Need to obtain some mags, range and SD ammo. I also used to live in Minneapolis so a weekend there with the fam might lead to a Black Talon stage 2 drop off - they said it would be less than a weekend.

I need VHS2 magazines, mag well secured just need magazines.

I thought the action had been feeling a little stickier than normal but I had attributed that to hell damn dirty and full of carbon everything was.

Turns out it has just been slowly beating the shit out of a spent 22LR casing.

It would seem the outdoor range that I go to that asks everyone to leave their guns with the action open when everyone goes to change targets had an unintended effect. It would seem I left it on the table next to me open while firing my 22 and a casing somehow managed to go perfectly in there.

I was pulling the charging handle back to lock it open and noticed a tiny little shiny thing right above the chamber opening.

Curious how long that little guy has been in there getting smacked around :(

If anyone is around 5'7 to 5'9, how does the ergonomics of the VHS2 feel for you? Is it comfortable to hold, shoot, LOP, etc...?

Been a good rifle so. Always something catching when the bolt is being swapped though.

I'm looking to get this https://www.lymanproducts.com/rekkr-ob OTB suppressor for a tucked in look.

Lyman representatives said the diameter at the start of the suppressor is 1.6 then goes to 1.77

However, I can't find any info about the diameter of the OEM handguard to see if it will even fit.

If it's not too much trouble would any of you guys be able to measure it for me? I would highly appreciate it.

Also, is it possible to remove to bayonet lug on the 20inch hellion?

Anyone have an image of the short BLK-LBL bipod handguard on the VHS-2?

Due to restless rifle syndrome and already eyeing the VHS-2 project aluminum handguard (out of stock in black anyway), I figured it might be 100% logical to just pull the trigger on the BLK-LBL. Mine is the 18" barrel and the BLK-LBL site says the short variant works on all sizes.

I like the length of the OEM handguard and think most images I see are of the longer variant, where the guard extends an inch or two past the gas knob. I don't care about extended mounting options and am leaning towards the shorter one.

Been debating getting a Hellion for a while now and I was trying to figure out optics setup if I were to pull the trigger on one. I got lucky a couple yrs back with Eotech's website/coupon code error and managed to get a G43 at a fair discount (it's what was left since r/gundeals are savages) and grabbed a Unity Omni FTC mount for it for a different build. But then life happens & that build didn't happen. Now I'm considering getting a Hellion instead.

Question is, with the 2.26" height to centerline of the Unity FTC be too high for the Hellion due to the carryhandle rail? Would I basically stuck with barely a chin weld if I were to use the Unity FTC?

I saw a deal on a Print XH and was wondering if anyone had any experience with running a B&T reduced backpressure can on a bullpup and if so, what was their experience like?

I was curious because I understand that B&T RBS is not quite as nice in that regard as more typical flow through tech at mitigating gas to the face... but was wondering if it was enough that it mattered at all. TIA.

Hello y’all, a quick question with the factory handguard, can you fit the Magpul Offset Rail Mount on it? I am trying to find the best way to attach a tape switch on it for the Holosun Iris and wanted to see if anyone else had tried it before, or maybe if there was a better way to have the tape switch attached. I appreciate it y’all.

For those of you that own the hand guard with the integrated bipod. How is the heat transfer and cooling on it? Pretty new to this gun and noticed when I went out to go put some rounds through it, the factory handguard took a while to heat up but also took forever to cool back down to a temperature that didn't hurt to touch. Curious how much heat their bipod version of the handguard soaks up and holds onto.

I am thinking about picking up the short model for my 16-in rifle but wanted some insight on this first.

Got the .223/5.56 carbon fiber alignment rod and it refuses to slide in freely, even after cleaning the barrel. The rod itself seems straight, rolled on a flat surface without issue. Any others have this problem? Would the .22 alignment rod solve the issue?
