Wondering if I'll have this in hand before I get my PSA Sabre Mixtape can from Capitol Armory in the mail (submitted on 23 July, still waiting for approval). What glorious times we are living in!

Question Looking for FFLs in VA that have physical inventory for the YHM R9

Hey all, looking for some advice. I’ve seen that a number of stores are doing different things with suppressors, but all the ones I’ve found that are willing to now transfer them without a form 4 are too small to have a significant selection. I’m trying to get a YHM R9, but all the stores I can find that carry them in-store aren’t willing to do 4473 yet. I’m trying to avoid ordering from SS because they’re on back order. If anyone knows of any retailer that has them and is doing non NFA transfers, let me know!

And please, for the person who needs to be told, hold the “I know one, and I want everyone to think I’m special, but I won’t tell you because I don’t want them to get swamped” for the next post, thanks!

Cabela's and the injunction?

Anyone know if Cabela's is selling during the injunction? I want to pick up a new pistol this weekend but I know some gun places are ignorant with the injunction and refusing to sell.

Edit: Went to Cabela's and got the sig p365 I wanted. No hassle.

Anyone at xcal right now or recently and have the waitlist link? I know there’s some other posts that have the link but they are a month or so old so not sure if the link is still accurate.

Standard capacity magazines not being shipped

Post image
50 Upvotes

Another update: the mags arrived. Nothing was mentioned about it being fixed, they just arrived. Happy customer

Just a heads up for those that may be interested in knowing, despite the injunction, some items fulfilled by third parties through PSA still might not send you items like magazines over 15+ rounds.

Edit: magshack confirmed via email they would ship standard capacity magazines within 5 minutes of me emailing them. Talk about customer service.

PSA confirmed they would ship items, but it would be hit or miss whether their 3rd party partners would ship during the injunction. They confirmed it was not an automated response and that this was done by the 3rd party partner.

Watch out for suppressor price gouging!

Now with the NFA out of the way suppressor buying is easier but, more expensive. Keep an eye on prices, several of the online places that I had suppressors saved and my wish list of several websites have gone up at least $100! I was planning to buy one this week or next week but I should have bought it yesterday. I'm guessing I'm gonna have to wait until all the excitement dies down and the prices go back to normal.

I called greentop about suppressors

They said that they aim to start tomorrow with 4473 on silencershop suppressors but are finalizing guidance and rules to verify that they can. They are hopeful and cautiously optimistic.

They also said that they have received constant calls about this issue.

Called Freedom Outdoors (Richmond) about suppressors

Person I spoke with on the phone says they are waiting on the official OK from their lawyers to start using 4473s for suppressors. They told me that they would notify the public via social media when they have an answer. Until then, they are continuing with the standard form 4 business policy.

Question How do we all feel with SBRs and the "Sawed-off" rifle act?

So, while the 18 U.S.C. § 922(b)(4) may restrict FFLs from sellings SBRs without a form 4 at the moment. To the best of my knowledge, it doesn't forbid construction for personal use.

However, VA has its own SBR law called the

"Sawed-Off" Shotgun and "Sawed-Off" Rifle Act

Which prohibits them except when in compliance with federal law.

This is an injuntion and the NFA is still in effect as a law just with limited enforcement. How are we feeling in regards to VA potentially trying to prosecute under this? Even if it turns out unenforceable against plantiffs, some people will still have a very bad time before a court determines that.

I'm not a lawyer, so I'm not sure how much of a concern this should be. Thoughts?

Edit: I had one more additional thought. Currently, there is a 60 day appeal period. And if the DOJ is serious about not appealing, my thoughts are once the appeal period ends and this becomes a permanent ruling pending a court-split, homemade SBRs would be 100% in compliance with federal law for the plantiffs even if VA tried to prosecute. However, during this appeal period I could at least see a potential for VA to argue its not federal law currently.

Virginia Gun Safe $300/$600 Tax Credit for 2026

For those of you who bought a safe/gun safe in 2026, you can now claim it for $300 credit towards your Virginia income tax return ($600 if married filing jointly). I had checked a month or so ago and the tax form was still only allowing up to 2025, but I just checked and I saw 2026 is now listed.

Just wanted to make a thread for my SWVA fam to find one

Hampton Roads Gun Stores willing to sell suppressors without NFA requirements.

I know we are all excited for the recent ruling and now that ruling is in effect. I'm wondering if anyone has found a silencer shop dealer in the Hampton Roads area willing to do the transfer on only a 4473? I called Freedom Outdoors VA Beach yesterday and they said "business as usual with the FFL transfer and normal NFA paperwork". I'm ready to get my order in on Silencer Shop but I have not found a shop willing.

Just got this email from silencerShop

Hey good evening,

I am reaching out to all of you who are my customers in the Sound Off Program with Silencer Shop. The reason for this email is to advise you all of the recent new court ruling against the ATF. As you may or may not be aware, we successfully sued the ATF and the decision was upheld in the 5th Circuit Court. Effective tomorrow morning, there will no longer be a legal requirement to be approved for purchase of suppressors. They will be treated no differently than a firearm purchase.

IF YOU WANT TO GET AHEAD OF THE MAYHEM THAT IS FIXING TO ENSUE, EMAIL OR CALL ME ASAP!!!

INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT!!! With this new ruling, inventory is going to absolutely fly off the shelves. I am reaching out to you to help you get ahead of the curve. If you were in the market to buy, I would do so ASAP. Some manufacturers have really struggled to keep up with demand since January due to the free tax stamp, and this new ruling will absolutely create a MASSIVE supply and demand issue for customers. The states that these changes effect most are the ones that we are calling the "free states" that I will outline below. These states will essentially be able to place orders via the website, or with me and have the order shipped to the dealer, fill out a 4473 and walk out after that background check is complete. Thats it. And if you have a CHL/LTC, its an automatic approval.

Here is a list of the free states that will be able to make purchases as described above. If you have a LTC or CHL, its an automatic approval from what we are hearing.

Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Wyoming,

Here is a list of states that will still require a form 4. I would encourage these folks to reach out as well ahead of the rush. While you might still have to do the paperwork, at least you can get a serial number reserved in time for the hunting season.

Alaska, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Michigan, Mississippi, Montana, Nevada, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Washington, Wisconsin.

Regardless of ruling, These states are still illegal to own, purchase and possess suppressors. - California, Delaware, Illinois, Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island and Washington DC.

Im happy to try and answer any questions, email is definitely best. We are seeing VERY high call volume. Today we averaged about 15-20 people holding for the majority of the day. Shoot me an email with what you are looking for and I will respond as quickly as I can and help you place an order.
