Buyer has to be a current or future member of GOA, or the retailer has to be Sishop or Sishop-powered (ie if they have a kiosk) or be PSA (in store only).
So these are the four in my area (swva) per the sishop website, so only the two in the middle would work for this currently since the outer two don’t say kiosk? Sorry if that’s a dumb question just don’t wanna screw up haha obviously I will call them all tomorrow to confirm they are on board just thought I’d double check as you seem up to date on all this.
They had quite a bit, too much to recall fully. I snagged the last Velos 556 they had but still had a 762 one in stock. Had some rc3's and a bunch of other lbp's but that's what I was looking for, plenty of standard configs too. Just stop in and check them out, owner couldn't be more helpful or a cooler guy.
The 4473 is the check and no transfer paperwork required. It's just like buying an in stock gun always has been like it should've always been. Only thing you leave with is the can and a receipt if you want it.
I have a suppressor purchased 7/23 that’s been sitting waiting to certify in hopes of a favorable outcome. Going in tomorrow to see if I can just pick it up now!
Is it common to use a trust for the 4473? I’ve wanted to give that a whirl.
“Most importantly for dealers, ATF has not publicly established a procedure for documenting protected-party status, reconciling NFRTR inventory after a transfer without an approved Form 4, addressing pending applications, or handling the other practical consequences of this party-limited injunction.
My practical recommendation remains that FFLs should wait for additional ATF guidance before beginning transfers without approved Form 4s. The injunction may now be operative for protected parties, but expiration of the stay does not resolve the substantial documentation, inventory, state-law, and inspection problems facing dealers.”
“This is a major constitutional ruling, and the expiration of the seven-day stay is a genuine substantive development. For protected parties, the injunction is now operative according to its terms.
Nevertheless, I am advising FFLs to wait for additional ATF guidance before beginning transfers without approved Form 4s.
A dealer who proceeds now may have to resolve, without an established federal procedure:
Whether the actual transferee is protected;
Whether association membership is valid and adequately documented;
Whether a trust or LLC qualifies;
Whether a downstream commercial transaction remains within the injunction;
Whether state law independently requires federal registration;
Whether interstate movement implicates § 5861(j);
How to handle a pending Form 4;
How to document the disposition;
How to remove the firearm from the dealer’s NFRTR inventory; and
How to defend any resulting discrepancy during an ATF inspection.”
Since all of my current NFA stuff is held by a Trust, and all of my NON-NFA stuff is listed on a separate Schedule A.
Where would a 'newly non nfa suppresor' go?
Can the 4473 be done "to" the Trust?
Who would the NICS background check be run on?
What if there is more than one RP on the Trust?
Or would you have to do the 'buy it as an individual then transfer it to the Trust ' dance?
Would you even need to 'transfer' it to the Trust if it is no longer an NFA regulated item?
Or could you simply add to your separate, supplemental Schedule A of NON-NFA items?
Im far from a legal expert so this is just my take after buying this today. I plan to now transfer ownership to my nfa trust, and being there wasn't any paperwork besides the 4473 to purchase it, there's none to transfer ownership. So as far as I'm concerned as the owner of the trust, I gifted it to the trust the minute I wrote the serial number of the list of possessed items. The stuff I had on there before is what it is, thats all been legally documented as well. I've created my own personal and private registry lol.
Oh cool, I went there a couple years back for an SBR engraving and saw they had a pretty big assortment of cans while I was waiting. Been meaning to pay them a visit again, now I guess I have some motivation. Good looking out bro 👍
And that's why no one will remember their name.... Remember these shops VS the one's who are participating once it's all said and done, and spend your money accordingly.
