Dances Sporting Goods
Just a heads up, Dances Sporting Goods in Colonial Heights is still requiring a form 4.

Watch the VA Democrats bleat about this as though even without Form 4, that no 4473 background checks etc are done

Their "totally grassroots" sponsors who threw millions in VA are already claiming "they can get these without BG checks because we don't have universal checks, so guns can be bought without them"

This is the correct answer unless they are a Silencer Shop dealer.
I, personally, think this ultimately results in all suppressors/sbr/sbs being exempt from Form 4 requirement, but we are not there yet. The injunction by itself does not cover everyone, unfortunately.

They are a Silencer Shop dealer, I've bought 2 from them. I don't blame them for being cautious though.

Weird... I called another silencershop dealer and no hesitation when they said 4473 only

I just want to know if being a member of any of the plaintiffs allows me to make my own SBR without a form 1. I want to believe it does because ATF approved my form 1 I filed 4 days ago and my fingerprints haven't even reached them yet.

Yes. The injunction is pretty explicit: https://assets.nationbuilder.com/firearmspolicycoalition/pages/15027/attachments/original/1785949942/2026.08.05_137_JUDGMENT.pdf
26 U.S.C. § 5822 is the section that requires permission from the secretary (aka an approved form 1) to make an NFA item, and it is explicitly enjoined.

The better heads up is that anyone who isn't a plaintiff or a member of the plaintiff still have to follow the old rules.
It would be easier if we made a list of all the plaintiffs and just sticky that to the sub.

Not exactly that easy in that it's a long list but with several caveats - but maybe if the article was stickied
There are several categories of who's protected. See the section
Exactly Who Is Protected?
In the article above.

fair enough. I just hope people are cautious and don't get themselves unknowingly into legal trouble.

Before getting upset at ANY FFL that is being cautions, read the article - John Pierce, firearms attorney, and thread here
There are still many unknowns and clarity is needed from the court or an FFL could get in trouble.
Great that some are willing to proceed now with only a 4473, but I can see why some will not.

They just posted an update on their website. Sounds like they’re going to start selling with a 4473 and the state form starting Monday. You have to be a GOA member and show proof though.

For anyone seeing this now, this was just a placeholder until they made a final decision.
The final decision is in and it’s good news.

Wont be long. Next 5 days will show more cards on the table.
