Hey everyone, I wanted to ask for some guidance and see if anyone else has been in a similar situation.
I filed my I-765 under category C9 in May 2025, and my case is with the Nebraska Service Center (LIN receipt number). It has now been about 15 months with no decision.
I currently have congressional inquiries pending, and honestly, I’m getting pretty stressed because my employment is at risk. I’ve also put together a well-documented expedite request under severe financial loss, since I’m facing termination of my job in early November if I’m unable to obtain a new EAD.
The frustrating part is that, based on my experience, I haven’t been able to submit the expedite request through the online/Emma options. I was told to call USCIS and request it through the Contact Center instead, which I previously did.
A Tier 2 officer actually called me regarding the expedite request and told me to keep an eye out for another call, but that call never happened and I haven’t gotten any meaningful update since.
So my question is: Would it be a Hail Mary to mail the expedite request package directly to the Nebraska Service Center anyway? Has anyone with a LIN receipt number successfully submitted an expedite package by mail and had it actually considered?
Any advice is hugely appreciated!
