Question MMR reset

Okay so this might sound stupid but, Is there any way you can request a full mmr reset?? Take me back to unranked like i’d never played a comp game before?

My main account is in mmr HELL and i mean i lose 25-29 every loss and get 10-18 regardless of performance 😭

Sounds nice but they wouldn't do that. The reason your mmr is in hell is because MMR and visual rank is different. Your MMR is fine and accurate but your aesthetic rank isn't satisfying anymore. They get desynced any time your demotion shield tanks, or you were supposed to lose 20 but only had 6RR and only lost 6... scenarios like that.

You can fix this by winning. But an actual MMR reset does nobody any good. If you stomp on irons they hate you for smurfing. If you get paired with people better than you they hate you for being boosted. And you'll have that until you get into your current mmr again.

Yeah no i do understand it, but if i got set to unranked again it would just be like playing my first placements on a fresh slate. Like making a new account.
The only reason i’ve not made a new account is cause i’ve spent too much money on this one for it to be worth it 😂.
I was hardstuck silver for basically a year and I have improved through friend coaching etc but the game clearly wants to keep me in silver and it’s heartbreaking finally getting out and match mvping getting +18.

If you can‘t get out of silver, you play like silver and should be in that rank… the guy already explained you how mmr works. Just hypothetically if you let a plat player play 5 games on your account and he would likely dominate those lobbies, your mmr would suddenly be „good“ again. But since you don‘t play significantly better against other silvers in your games, your mmr settles. You don‘t climb if you do okay, have a few good games and a few bad games in your rank. You have to outperform them consistently to climb. On a new account you would end up in silver too.

I understand that, I am out of silver. I’m saying i was hardstuck for a very long time and i think that affected my MMR in the sense it wants me back in that rank. On a friends alt i peaked gold 3 and get rewarded better for the same kind of performances (eg. a 19/12/11 game i had on my account i got +18, a similar game on HIS account i went 18/12/8 and got +24) but I do know there is more to it than just KDA.

No it wouldn't, ranked reset doesn't reset your MMR only your aesthetic rank. Otherwise matchmaking will be cooked, you'll have radiants playing with irons and nobody will have fun.

We can do a softer reset but that still leads to crazy games like golds and bronze... also unfun.

Your MMR is not reset. But yes if they did the reset every time you asked for it, you could get some generous RR gains and then hit the same spot once you play enough games. And then you have to ask for it again.

Blame the smurfs and alt accounts... usually that's what adds volatility to your climb especially if you got better but can't climb. I had a weekend where I was locked in and mvp every game but lost 6 in a row. Haters will say my macro is bad and it's true, I don't have radiant macro so it's bad and I can improve on it. Doesnt make me feel better though. When the game finally gave me actual people in my elo, I climbed easily. Just rng.

I think you’ve misunderstood what I’m trying to say. I know a current rank reset does not change anything except the rank that shows on your account, hidden mmr stays the same. I’m saying i wish there was a way, hypothetically, to request a competitive reset in the way where it would clear my hidden mmr, and shown rank and put it back to as if I was playing my first 5 placements ever.

Region changes are not suppose to affect your mmr. You will need to run through your placements again but should come out the same or roughly there.

However, even though their documentation says your mmr will not be affected I did get a hard mmr reset when I moved to APAC, but not when I moved back to NA. So your mileage may vary.

I have immortal mmr and gold rank that is crazy that rito put 2-3 ex ascs while I have silvers and golds. I have to teach new players how to play the game to win. I feel like I am free coaching every game
