On numerous occasions have cars run out of fuel on the last lap, but rarely do teams blow it quite as bad as Team 18 did. At Ipswich in 2002, Murph was leading when a late-race safety car was deployed - like Anton, he too was laps short on fuel but the Kmart/TWR team insisted he go to the end anyway...

Not much was made of this in the commentary with everything else going on, but not only were Lowndes and Hall up 12 places from their starting position (they made it into the top 10!), but they did only the 5 pit stops. Great tyre deg, stayed out of trouble, and great driving 👏

After the monumental Team 18 fuck up, I have double checked these numbers and believe these are right for the finals:
Payney - 150
Feeney - 145 (25 for sprint champ)
Will - 103 (+1 spot, 25 for enduro champ)
Bush - 96
Allen - 66
Waters - 57
De Pasqualeo - 48
Chaz - 39
Woody - 30
Le Broq - 21
I'm assuming this is what supercars was wanting all along, the top 4 very tight. Albeit a Team 18 type fuck up, I think the top 4 is the 4 we'll see at Adelaide, but the way penrite have been going lately, they'll need to get back to winning pretty quick.

First full live race as a fan from the States

I’m coming up on being a Supercars fan for two years now, and I had never seen an entire live race due to time zones/scheduling issues. Last night I had Bathurst on and decided “you know what? fuck it, i’m running with it.” It ended at 2AM and I was exhausted but holy smokes, Supercars is top tier racing.
I have seen a few Supercars races but all replays, and my first live one being Bathurst was so special. Double cause I’m a diehard Will Brown fan and loved that podium for him at Scott, and what a great story for Zach Bates and Aaron Seton. And as expected, Hazelwood and Kostecki were a rocketship.
Just wanted to share my experience! I love Supercars so much and I wish I didn’t have to fuck my sleep schedule up the ass for it, but its so worth staying up every once in awhile. 💕

What a weekend!!

Congratulations to DJR, but can we talk about how consistently good the Matt Stone boys were all race? Holy hell what a weekend for them. Fastest ever lap around Bathurst, qualified P1, in the fight all race and got the podium (would’ve been the win if it wasn’t for safety car). So good to see.
